GTMAT Sound Deadener adheres to almost any surface instantly, and is pressure sensitive. The harder the pressure of application, the stickier the bond. Clean, grease-free surfaces provide the most durable applications. In general, the warmer the temperature, the tackier and more pliable the adhesive will be when handling and applying. Recommended application room temperature is between 50°F to+120°F (10C to 50C).

Works well, in the car and in the home

Although I used most of this in my car, I have also added some to the bottom of my kitchen sink, and to the garbage disposal. In those applications, it really cut down the sound by a noticeable amount. Spoons, pots and pans no longer clank and crash. My sink is a Kohler Staccato 18-gauge stanless steel sink and although it wasn't super loud before I did this, it really helped cut down on the sounds as the wall with my sink is close enough to where my (then, infant) son sleeps, as he often used to toss and turn when someone was washing dishes. After applying this 10 months ago, you can only hear the loudest pot drops, but it is not loud enough to stir him. Dumping leftover ice from a cooler into the sink causes condensation and the sticky backing on this product is holding tight, so I'm guessing it will hold up to elements in a automotive application as well. Speaking of the car, I probably didn't buy enough to really make a huge difference, but I would trust the quality of the product to add more at a later time.

Deadens the din at low, low price. Excellent product!

Used some of mat to wrap sink garbage disposal. Made $60 part sound as quiet as the $150 one. Used remainder on firewall of my car -to minimize engine noise protruding from engine compartment. Worked well in that regard as well. I would like to use this stuff under all the carpeting and inside all 4 doors when I get the time. A friend of mine recommended this brand after he made his (thin sheet metal paneled) 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage's LOUD, raucous, booming with road noise interior go to a quieter, hear-your-own-thoughts interior space. He was getting to the point where he was going to trade the car for a loss (even though it gets 50MPG) because he couldn't stand commuting in the car prior to the GTMAT's application. Summary: This is the best price anywhere on such a good quality sound-deadening mat. Especially if you want to hear more nuances in car audio, use this stuff to knock out a realistic 5-10 Db of noise from your car's interior (depending on factors such as metal thickness, factory undercoat, carpet quality/thickness, etc..). It makes a huge difference. If you need a point of reference: -2012 Mercedes Benz 2012 ML450/500 is 61.3 Db @ 70mph compared to a 2012 Kia Sportage's 71.3 Db @ 70 mph That 5-10 Db can be the difference in hating or loving spending time in your transportation.

Made dishwasher quieter.

Made dishwasher quieter, by just installing inside the door of the unit. I also put some behind the kick panel and lower cover plate. My wife noticed it immediately. If I was to install it on the entire outer shell, I bet it would be almost silent.

Easy to cut and install. I would recommend this product, if you need to quiet a noisy dishwasher.

Made an inexpensive unit, almost as quiet as the more expensive model for a few bucks!

Easy to use and cut, seems to make some difference

This is an easy to use product that seems to make some difference in my Jeep. It's easy to cut and form around odd angles. I used it to line the indise of the overhead sound bar in our Jeep wrangler since it's made from plastic and needed some help to improve the sound. It didn't fix everything but I feel it made some difference. Probably would work better if you're lining a trunk or something else.

This is a great alternative to Dynamat. I used it on my door speaker surrounds. I loved the 1'x1' squares, little to no waste. Easy to work with, sticks to surfaces well and I couldn't be happier with it. Take your time and roll/work the mat to the contours you need to dampen. Definitely recommend it.
