I had another Cole and Mason electric salt and pepper mill set for a few years. The pepper mill broke twice, so this set is a replacement. This Greenwich set actually feels more solid. I've used it already and am happy with my purchase.

Ordered the matching Cole & Mason Greenwich salt & pepper mills...salt worked as expected but the pepper did not. Amazon easily replaced the pepper mill but the second one didn't work either. Tried several different kinds of peppers but none worked...after closer inspection saw that the grinder was simply not in alignment so sent back and ordered the Peugeot elis sense set and super pleased (found it to be a much superior product and worth the additional cost).

The pepper version was perfect, but the salt version must have been damaged in packing. Flemsy tabs that connect the grinder head to the salt container were damaged. It still works, but should be bullet-proof for the price. Not even going to try for a replacement based on other reviews.

My husband bought the Greenwich pepper mill and the product worked well, except for the fact that it chews through batteries. We had it for about 3 months when he dropped it on the granite countertop. The stainless top broke off from the bottom (clear plastic). In my opinion, the product is poorly designed and not of merchandisable quality in that the top is too heavy for the weak plastic bottom. One would expect that a pepper mill that is used in the kitchen could withstand being dropped. Additionally, replacement parts are not available for the clear plastic and that is the weakest spot. I would have given this 5 stars if not for the issues listed above

Works pretty well and is easier to load than others I've had. The one problem is that grinding the pepper requires a very hard press on the button at the top, making it uncomfortable to use.

We love the taste of freshly ground pepper in our marinades and on fish and meat, so we use it almost every day. There are occasions, like when handling raw meat and fish, when being able to grind pepper with one hand is a huge help in cleanliness and efficiency. And these days, we use salt and pepper mills at the dinner table too. I like this mill's heft and sleek, metallic design -- it looks nice enough for dinner guests. Best of all, it has an adjustable grind setting, so you can choose how well ground you'd like your pepper. FINALLY! Between the grind settings and the ability to operate the mill with one hand, my husband is dazzled by our (his) new pepper mill, (which says a lot as it's hard to get him excited about any sort of kitchen appliance.) Well done Cole and Mason! I might have to buy the coordinating salt mill too!
