Reported to be completed in just 6 days, this 1976 release produced by the now legendary producers Maurice White and The late, great Charles Stepney is a testament to the power of love. The Emotions are vocally superb with just enough edge to keep you transfixed on a somewhat simple line up of tracks. The horn arrangement on "I don't wanna lose your love" is very interesting, along with a great smooth bassline and Wanda Hutchinson's unique vibrato, make this a classic cut. The title track is heralded by R&B purists everywhere, A true quiet storm classic with a jazzy spiritual feel. This CD is an absolute must for any fan of TRUE singers.

This paper sleeve japanese import edition of the classic debut on the(then)Columbia label via Maurice White's Kalimba productions, is a lesson in low-key perfectionism. Reported to be completed in 6 days(!!!!!!!)this set quietly went gold in 1976 largely through word of mouth and the two sided hit 45 of I don't wanna lose your love/Flowers. Charles Stepney's producing really shows in the jazzy feel given to many of the slower tunes. The very next year with the release of the Rejoice album & the single Best Of My Love The Emotions were hotter than hot and many people discovered this album after that causing more sales. There is no bonus tracks or remixes or what not, just a well produced copy of the orignal artwork down to the red album sleeve. The remastered sound is an improvement that makes import price worth it. Domestically this CD is still out of print only ever available as an import from either Japan or England. Get this for the re-mastered sound and the beautiful album tracks while you can. Sony please license Come Into Our World to be re-released remastered on CD.UPDATE: Come into our world has been released by bbr, they have done an excellent job.. check it out. Thanx bbr.

All i can say, is the group was at the top of the game. The ladies sang some serious high notes on 'Very Special' with Mr. white production this is what you call first class Production and Singing. I think i read some place that Marice White had them singing as high as he could get them to sing on this project. I can not find anything wrong on this CD, evan the songs under a minute are prefect. I was not old enough to get to see them in concert during the time this CD/ Album was out, but would have love to see them along with Minnie riperton. My favorite are the following.

What a perfect project! Classic!

I'm glad they brought back this album,the song No Plans For Tomorrow was a nice dance song but hard to find unless you had the album all of The Emotions Best Of CD never had brought this song into there collection

Classic Emotions. When Maurice and Verdine White of Earth Wind and Fire began producing, arranging and accompanying (as bakground musicians) the Emotions, they were elevated to an exceptional trio of female singers. Their harmony is incredible. This CD also includes two acapella inserts. I was also amazed to find out that they were sisters.
