I ordered this mouthpiece by mistake. I thought it was a C clarinet mouthpiece--i.e. a mouthpiece specifically designed for a clarinet keyed in C, as opposed to the usual Bb. Turns out, though, that the "C" designation is just the last letter of the model number.

Funny thing is, though, when used on my C clarinet, this cheapo piece really is a big improvement over the Yamaha custom mouthpiece I use on my Yamaha professional Bb clarinet,and have been trying to use on the C clarinet.

FWIW, my C clarinet is a Ridenour "Lyrique" model. It has intonation issues that I was trying to address; and, surprisingly, a different Bb clarinet mouthpiece--namely this absurdly low-priced Palatino thing--seems to be close to be being designed for it.

I wish I knew enough about mouthpieces to measure the various things,like chamber size, tip opening, etc. To my eye, it looks just like all the other clarinet mouthpieces I have, both cheap and expensive. But for the C clarinet it's far and away the best one.

Less than 8 bucks with Amazon Prime. I'm happy.

Mine had a bad facing (the surface under the reed). It wouldn't play, so I held it against a flat surface to see the shape of the facing. I could see that it was ground wrong, not with the normal smooth curve between lig. and tip. Other people like this MP, so I think I just got a bad one. It can happen. The ligature is junk, but at this price, hey, just throw it in the trash and get a nice cheap Rico or Luyben lig. For a total of $30, why complain? (unless you get a dud like I did).

I liked this very much. This was a replacement for a mouth piece for a clarinet that is over 40 years old. The cork was not holding tight anymore and the mouth piece rocked. It was cheaper to buy this new mouth piece than replace the cork on the old one.

I just randomly decided to start playing clarinet again so I bought this little cheap mouthpiece to replace the once I lost way back in middle school. It works fine for now but the ligature has a tendency to slip off after a while. No matter how well I tighten it, it always comes off, usually while I'm playing. Not good! It's ok for now but I definitely want to get a better one in the future.
