The phrase "you get what you pay for" rang in my head as I debated over buying this product or much less expensive versions from other comparable name brands. I decided to do it right the first time and bought the 3M Perfect-It Buffing/Polishing Kit locally.

First, be sure your car actually has clear coat. I've seen some bad reviews from people on many brand's products where the reviewers had older vehicles with just paint only with no clear coat. The results were generally not good.

Typically, and in my case especially, this type of product can be used to remove unsightly scratches. It can also help to bring out clarity in cloudy clear coats, but this was not my case as my car is only 3 years old and still shines like glass in most light.

Now, the horror story. I had discovered a nice white scratch on the trunk of my black Camaro that had been left by someone who was likely wearing a ring and had put their hand on my car. It was also very likely that said person was drunk as it was parked in front of a bar and the scratch was wiggly, or at least it didn't look like someone had heard that 'Before He Cheats' song and decided to give vandalism a go 'round. Regardless, someone left a nice scar on my car. I immediately saw red upon discovering it and began to imagine how much it would cost to have an auto body shop repair the damage.

Reeling from the cost of having my trunk repainted and applying new chrome and racing stripes I decided to try the quick fix way first by using a well known name brand of wax's clear coat repair kit. I applied the goop from the pen along the scratch, then used the included abrasive pads and moisturizing liquid as instructed. This is such a good product, I had some deep scratches, I used 1000 grit wet sand, then 2000, then 3000. I went ahead and followed the recommended instructions, used my DA air sander. The results were amazing I feel like a pro for sure!. Also, great price, I looked everywhere, great size, great pads, well packed. Thank you.
