These are some great knives. We originally bought these for temporary use until we could afford better knives. We are thrilled that these are lasting so long. It has been almost a year and we have yet to sharpen them. I am very picky about knives and I m pretty tough on them cutting a lot of things that dull a knife easily. It was such a great buy!

got a week ago, it's a nice set, especially for the price. you can't compare this to a $200 set like I have at my other house, but for non-professional cooking, does the job really well. Still trying to figure out how you get so much for the money. Granted- it might last 3 years, but that's like $7 a year, then maybe buy another set after you lose a piece or two. Would definitely buy again (probably will)

I have my own sharpener, and I use it, so I have had no problem keeping these knives sharp, and they work great. Only problem was the scissors broke not long after I got it. They are usable, but flimsy.

I'm giving this knife set 4 stars because I'm considering the price of these knives. I purchased this 15 knife set for $30 which divides to $2 per piece... $2 per piece. The knife set is extremely cheap. For this price category these knives perform well. They can't be compared to other higher priced knives because more money is devoted to the other ones to insure a different quality grade of knife. The only knives within this price range of that I can think of would be knives from the 99 cent store. Knives from 99 cent store are no where near as good.

If you're looking to add knives to your kitchen and temporarily or you don't have much money these are the way to go. For this price you should buy them with the mindset that they will need some sharpening from time to time and that they may rust. If you take care of them, they will do the job.

This is pretty much all the knives you need for a standard kitchen. The description is accurate. I wouldn't put these in the dish washer because it'll dull the blade. You shouldn't put any knives in the dishwasher actually. I have been using these for months now and they have held up great. They are still as sharp as the day I bought them. I basically use them every day. They look great with the block and the price is way cheaper than any set I could find at a brick and mortar store. These are pretty good quality and value. I actually ordered another set for my sister because she liked mine so much.

Perhaps my set was a dud because the reviews here are overwhelmingly positive, and many even celebrate how sharp these knives are (that fact being a big factor in my decision to purchase). Unfortunately the ones I received are all too dull to use. They couldn't even cut through an onion efficiently and safely. Even the scissors are dull: I had difficulty opening a thin plastic cryovac package with them while my ages-old never-sharpened kitchen shears cut right through. I'm returning these and even though I might fare better with a replacement set, I'm choosing not to exchange and will ultimately purchase a different brand.
