Ordered a pair of these traps when no other efforts were working to encourage a beaver to to leave our pond. The beaver had been ringing a number of large trees and cutting down many small ones nightly. Placed one of these in one of the well travelled paths, and it stopped him dead in his tracks, quick, no suffering.

These are strong traps. You won't be able to set them without a tool of some sort. I used a modified ratcheting clamp to compress each of the main springs, and a pair to compress the jaws so I could set the the trap in place. Respect these traps. They will cause severe injury if not handled with care.

Be careful with these. They will break a finger for sure and probably a wrist. It's a workout getting them set. Did not work for me to dispatch the groundhogs as I was too afraid of snapping it on the neighbors curious dog. The will easily kill a 40+ pound dog.

This trap would be great for someone who is used to setting them. Even with the Setting Tool it is very hard to set. I guess it would be a quick kill for the possums which is what I am looking for, but I can't seem to put enough weight on it to set it safely.
