I spent my summers working at restaurants behind a deli slicer. We have every appliance, spend a small fortune at the local deli shop, so getting a slicer makes sense. After extensive research I bought this unit on faith, no reviews at the time. Basically this is a Chinese knockoff of a pro slicer. It's not a pro slicer, but close enough for what we need to do. The fit and finish is very well done, quiet and powerful motor. The plate and blade are very easy to remove, making clean up quick. The slice adjustment knob is not as precise as a pro slicer, but accurate enough for very thin slices. Once you set the slice, it stays set. The blade is heavy, very sharp, well designed and not serrated.
It's big and weighs 35lb. No walking on the counter while slicing.
I was looking to buy the Chef Choice 645, it's a good unit, not a big fan of serrated blades. I am glad I bought this one.
In my opinion a better more robust unit for less money.
Two weeks ago this unit was $255. I suspect once they sell out, they will be gone till next year if that.

Everything about the actual slicer is very good. However, the operating manual leaves a lot to be desired. I actually had to contact a support person with a question I had. Like another reviewer stated, cleaning can be a little confusing at first, but once you learn how to clean it, it is actually very easy. I also discovered that whenever I cut vegetables, compressed air really makes the cleanup extremely easy and quick.

It's just OK. I suspect I could have got the same quality for less. The motor is good, it's quiet. Slices easily. It's heavy so don't plan on moving it a lot. That's OK, I wanted heavy. The carriage does not slide as smooth as it should. The blade does not come off for cleaning underneath it. I suspect with the right tools it will. Also, the carriage itself does not come off which also makes it difficult to clean. The manual is obviously translated from another language, and NOT well. Not very helpful except for the parts listing. My biggest complaint is that the pusher for the food is anchored to the far side of the carriage and does not come completely off the carriage itself. If you ever used a commercial slice in a deli the pusher is usually anchored on the carriage at the near side closest to you and can flip completely off allowing for larger cuts of meat to rest on the carriage. Because this pusher does not come off, there is very limited room for a piece of meat. I had bought cooked turkey breast to slice and I had to first cut it down into pieces that could fit on the carriage between the pusher and the slicer.

This is one fine machine. Makes slicing a breeze. I've just done meat and salami so far. It can slice very thin too. Also a very sturdy stout slicer. It's weight at 35lbs should say something. Comparably price slicers were less than half the weight and half as powerful motors. Finally it is very easy to clean. Would definitely recommend and buy again.

really nice to finally own one of these slicers. i wanted something heavy duty with some weight to it. you dont want things sliding around on the counter while pushing your meat through. last night i cut some cheese with it, no problem easy. i read some reviews about the bad translation in the owners pamphlet. it is pretty hard to understand but for the most part the functions of the machine are relatively easy to figure out. i also read that it was hard to clean but couldnt find out why. i thought it was super easy to clean.i use to work in a deli and have to tell you this baby can do the job.

This is a quite machine, it has a nice stong sound hum to it. Its not bad for cleaning, its easier on more expensive machines at work, but its not bad. I like it, works well, altho it would b nice if it had a fine stone for sharpening. This as a coarse stone. It was worth the money and would buy it again.
