I loved this product, until now. I have used Weiman's for over 5 years. Now I have huge streaks that I can't remove. I called the customer service phone number on the can and they told me this product builds up over time and has to be cleaned off. They told me to use Dawn dishwashing detergent on it. That did not work at all. I ended up cleaning all of my stainless appliances with Bar keepers Friend cleanser and polish that is used on stainless and porcelain. What a difference! Weiman's darkened my appliances. They no longer had the beautiful warm shine. I had to work over an hour on one of the fridge doors to remove the old Weiman build-up. The difference between the Weiman door all blackish and streaky and the cleaned door is amazing. I'm throwing out my full can of Weiman's. I will NOT go through this process again. I wouldn't mind if Weiman's had a product that would easily remove the build-up. Instead, they hide the fact that buildup occurs and leaves you by the side of the road when it comes to finding a way to clean up the darn stuff. I will never buy this product again.

I am a professional housekeeper and as such clean and polish a LOT of stainless steel appliances. One of my clients has this spray and it works much better than any other brand I have used. It's very easy to use and leaves a nice sheen with only a minimal amount of buffing. It does not leave streaks and it does not leave my hands feeling oily like some stainless steel polishes will do.

This product will make your stainless steel look like new. BUT, just like the manufacturer suggests, GO WITH THE GRAIN when cleaning.

Stainless steel has a natural grain from side to side. If you look closely, you'll notice small horizontal lines/marks, that's the direction of the grain. So when using this product:

1. Spray directly onto the surface
2. ALWAYS use a microfiber cloth to clean/spread the product with the grain (side to side)
3. With another cloth, buff to a shine (again, with the grain)
4. Done.

If you notice marks as you clean/spread, that means you are going against the grain (up and down).

If you're using window cleaner to wipe down your stainless steel and having the same streaky results as I did, you'll love this product. It's sprayed directly onto a stainless surface and wiped in with a soft cloth. After this, a quick buffing with a microfiber cloth makes the surface look new. I found that the buffing wasn't always necessary, though. YMMV. One thing that is important to achieve a uniform appearance is to use sufficient product to spread without gaps. Observing from a sharp angle and with different lighting will help to find any missed areas.

The product is essentially a sprayable mineral oil, which removes fingerprints and other materials on the stainless surface, creating a very thin coating that is more resistant to fingerprints than the plain metal surface. I found it easier to use (and far less expensive) than the stainless steel wipes that are also available from Weiman (and probably others).

One major caveat when using this product: given it's an oil applied as a spray, it's very likely that some of the oil droplets will end up on your kitchen floor, creating a very slippery surface. Consider covering the floor in front of the fridge, dishwasher or whatever with newspaper before using the product...or clean up the floor afterwards with some rubbing alcohol on a clean cloth.

It's a good product for a reasonable price...but use with caution.

As a clean fanatic I am always looking for cleaning products for my home. After trying several stainless steel cleaners with much disappointment, I tried Weiman Stainless Steel Cleaner and Polish, WOW love it. Does exactly what it is marketed to do and the results are shiny and stunning. TIP: Use a microfiber cloth to apply and buff to a shine. If you have stubborn water marks ( I have on my dishwaher), spray and leave it on for a few minutes, the water marks disappear like magic. Love this product !!!!

6 months after putting in our new stainless steel appliances they're loaded with finger prints. Gave this stuff a try and am pretty pleased with how it works. There are just a few issues I've noticed and figured I should point them out:

1. The spray is a very fine mist and has a tendency to wander around the room and can get on unintended surfaces, i.e. granite counters, hard wood floors. I haven't noticed a problem but I did have to clean it off them.

2. It has a funky smell but that goes away after a few hours. Maybe someday I'll learn to associate it with "clean" like I do with other cleaning products.

3. When you apply it the stainless steel will take on a darker shade (about that of the finger prints you're trying to remove). This means that you need to apply it to the entire surface, not just where the finger prints are or else you'll see a change in the color. So, plan on cleaning your entire appliance, not just where it's dirty.

My stainless steel appliances had streaks and spots visible at certain angles and lighting. It took a lot of effort to to remove them with everyday cleaners, so I looked into stainless steel specific cleaners and found this product. After a quick spray and gentle wipe with this product, my appliances looked great. Too great. I was suspicious of how easy the streaks and spots disappeared, so I wiped the now "clean" appliances with just water and all the streaks and spots returned.

This product does not truly clean. Instead, it coats the stainless steel in a thin film that looks makes the stainless steel surface appear uniform and clean. The spots and streaks are still below this film.

I gave this product a poor rating because I expect a product labeled as a "cleaner" to remove contaminants and not just cover them up. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 star because it does do something well; make your appliances look better with little effort. I plan to use this product for quick touch ups when I want my appliances to look good but don't have time to properly clean them (e.g., unexpected guests coming over). Had this product been labeled for such a use, I would have gave it 4 or 5 stars.
