I just installed this in a wall mounted 19" rack ( same as ASIN B0041W55YE different mfgr ) . I also tested it on a StarTech.com 3U 19-Inch Steel Vertical Wall Mount ( ASIN : B001YI12A4 ) just to be sure of the sizing ( saw one review that said it did not fit ). it fit 2 different manufactures 19" racks correctly.. Nice shallow shelf for the wall mount racks for placement of table top gear ( switch server, etc that does not have rack ears on it ) surface of shelf ( lip to front of shelf ) is 6.75"

Perfect fit for our Dell PowerEdge R720 in our 19" 2-post rack. Our rapid-rails that came with our server did not have the sliding center bracket for the 2-post rack .. so this was a great solution for getting it mounted.

Purchased two of these to use on a client install. Intended use was to hold audio/video equipment that couldn't be rack-mounted (i.e. stereo receivers/amplifiers, dvd recorders, TV/Monitors, etc). Holes match up perfectly with the rack, and there was no problem supporting the weight of multiple pieces of equipment on each shelf.

The depth of the shelves is perfect. Placing a stereo receiver on one shelf, I was able to line up the front of the receiver with the front of the shelf/rack rails, and the back of the shelf extended several inches past the back of the receiver. No worries about anything falling off.

These are a good buy, and I'll be buying more of them as I develop needs for them!

I needed a vented rack to support a heavy AVR, 40 + lbs., So this looked like a good way to go, and I saw a lot of dealers and checked out the website. As Amazon provides fast shipping and I do not like poor service. Bought it from Amazon, the next business day I received it in excellent shape. This is an issue with buying sheet metal products, but Star Techs packaging did the job.
Will consider this brand again.

It gets the job done. I installed it in a perfectly square and level APC brand rack and it seems that no amount of adjusting can get it to sit perfectly flat and square though this only an aesthetic problem. Also I wouldn't put 50 lbs on this shelf unless it was sitting right near the rails. I am only using this for various small components like modems and firewalls and for that it is entirely sufficient. I was going to order a second one for a monitor and keyboard but I doubt the monitor would be as stable as I would like sitting at the back of this shelf.

Well packaged, well constructed, Arrived in perfect shape.

However, there's no lip on the front top to keep a piece from sliding forward and out.
NO included mounting hardware for the device (in this case a Blu-ray player). Only rack mount screws for the shelf. Middle Atlantic includes l-brakcets, nuts, and bolts to put in the slits to custom keep a piece from moving around. What do you expect us to do with this, Startech? I am going to wind up using some industrial Velcro which I prefer not to, the stuff is so strong should I ever want to take things out, the metal and/or the enclosure of the cheap player can and will bend.

Too narrow for industry-standard touring racks. Mounting holes would not line up to rack rail. My racks contain many items from multiple manufacturers & all of them fit into my racks…except this Startech shelf. What a waste of time.
I bought three of these & had to eat the cost on the first one as I had already thrown away the packaging before testing it. I sent the other two back.

Good luck. You'll need it.

The shelf is a heavy duty piece with nice finish and a good fit and high quality attachment hardware. One corner was slightly bent when I received it, but I bent it back into shape with pliers and it worked fine. I never complained because it worked fine and I would not hesitate to buy another one if i needed it. I only deducted one star due to the damaged corner otherwise it would have gotten 5 stars .
