    Before these shoes I had the Miura VS which were great. In the gym, I couldn't really tell the difference between the Blackwing and the Miura VS except the Blackwing were pretty painful, whereas the Miura VS fit comfortably from the start. I ended up just shoving a golf ball in the toe area for about three days. Outdoors, the Blackwing performed very well, sticks to just about anything. For sizing, go with your street shoe size for the Blackwing. Just for comparison, I sized down on the Miuras 1 1/2 and the Blackwing fit slightly tighter when I got them in my street shoe size.

    Disclaimer: I r exclusive gym climber

    I decided to go for these shoes after giving up on finding Dragons at my local stores. I wear my street shoes a bit loose, so I first bought this shoe at 8.5. Definitely a bad choice. I exchanged for a 9.5 and the fit is perfect since synthetic isn't going to stretch very much/at all. The Stealth C4 rubber is thinner than my Solutions, and noticeably stickier, so my feet have been feeling the wall a lot better. The shoe itself is very secure, although it feels like it's going to pop off with heel hooks. I'm not thrilled about the toe hooking ability, but given I'm working V7-8s, it's not a huge deal. It may be an issue for those doing fancier foot moves.

    Bought these when I wore out my sportiva katanas looking for a more aggressive shoe. That is exactly what I got. You can pull with your toe in these shoes like its nothing and heels are pretty solid. I have fairly narrow feet so the straps are a bit long but it does not effect use in any way. Kind of tight at first on the outside toes but I actually think it has stretched a little bit even though five ten says they won't. For reference I wear 42.5-43.5 in sportiva depending on the use. I had to order these in a 12 after trying an 11.5 in my local gym. Definitely not a shoe for slab or climbs of any real length that are vertical or less. I definitely sent off the old sportivas to get repaired and be used as my outdoor shoes exclusively. The blackwing is just a kick ass boulder shoe for me personally. In that arena, they definitely shine.

    This is my favorite climbing shoes. Fits very small, similar to the Anasazi Arrowhead. It has slightly wider toe box than the Arrowhead which is nice, but it still hurts!! If you are wearing something similar to La Sportiva Jeckyl VS go full size up for sure. I love the heel on this one. it is not rounded like the Arrowhead and it fits snugly. It doesn't really stretch much. Even after a month of usage the first 10-15 minutes still hurts, but it is just perfect after that. You still wouldn't wanna work around with this though, so bring a pair of sandals to the gym.

    Great shoe,best I've worn. I wear a 9.5 sportiva, I need an 11.5 blackwing. Make sure to try climbing in the them a little. I tried a size 11 on in the store and they felt great and snug. Then when I climbed on them they really hurt my feet.
