Warnings: for external use only. Keep out of reach of children. If irritation or sensitivity occurs, discontinue use. Do not use if inner pouch seal is broken. Each patch for single use only.

Directions
Directions:
It is important to follow these instructions carefully:
Wash hands prior to use.
The patch should be applied to clean and dry skin without any cream or make up.
1. While holding the protective liner marked with a 2, remove and discard the protective liner marked 1.
2. Holding the applicator tab, remove and discard liner 2. Note: do not touch the adhesive side of the circular patch.
3. Still holding the applicator tab, apply the patch to the area to be covered. Press firmly on the circular part of the applicator for at least 15 seconds.
4. Carefully remove the applicator by pulling the tab over the patch.
The patch should be left in place on the skin. Make-up, lipstick or other cover up can be applied over the patch. Repeat application only when an applied patch starts to detach. On average, the patch remains in place for 8 to 12 hours, this will likely vary from person to person and at different stages of the cold sore. When you are ready to remove a patch, carefully remove the patch to avoid pain and/or bleeding of the cold sore.
Important: if the patch doesn't detach easily, moisten the area with water and carefully remove. Continue using the patches until cold sore has healed or patches have been used up.

I just bought this product and it is a big waste of money. I was so stoked to see the videos and had some hope that this would work. However, the patch wrinkes badly when your face moves and I cant seem to get it to stick all the way around edge of the patch (some parts stick well others do not). The outside surface of the patch which you apply makeup to is slick like plastic so makeup easily smears off of it. Also it doesn't look consistent with the skin around the patch. It looks like makup on a plastic surface. They should have made the surface area less slick and more consistent with the look of skin.

Also I concur with another reviewer who said it hurts when you remove the patch. It yanks at the skin on the sore and can remove the scab which I imagine does not promote healing time.

If you purchase this product I hope you have better luck than me as I know how embarrassing cold sores are.

I just bought this from target. It's basically little round, clear stickers. And if the backing does not release, which in my case, was both times I tried it, it hurts like h3LL getting it off. It does nothing to help. There is no medication. It is strictly a clear, round sticker.
Biggest waste of my money.

I was excited about this at first, until I tried to use it. I went through three patches before I got one to stick. Then it wrinkled when I moved my face, and didn't want to stick with makeup. This best thing I found was liquid band aide. When your sore gets to the stage where it wants to scab and look really gross and dry, put some baby oil on it and wait for about 10 minutes.Get in the shower and gently rub the grossness off with your fingers, but don't pull on it if its not ready to let go. Pat it dry and get the rest of the grossness off if its loose and apply some liquid band aide. Hold on to something because it's going to sting. Let it dry and apply some coverup. It's not a great solution, but it's better than this crappy patch.

I've suffered from cold sores my whole life and have tried every product out there. This is by far the worst!
I have used Abreva cream and found that to be helpful in soothing cold sores, so I assumed this product would be decent.
Nope!

First off, and this is my bad for not fully reading the box, this product is NOT MEDICATED.
It's basically just a round piece of tape that you stick on your lip, over the sore.
It took me 2 tries with 2 patches to actually get one to stick, and it just drew more attention to the cold sore as it got all bunched up and crinkly. Then it fell half way off. When I pulled it all the way off, it ripped off a chunk of skin and made my lip bleed. I figured I'd use the remaining patches for sleeping, but the one time I tried that it fell off at some point in the night.

For the price of a box of these patches, you'd be better off buying a bottle or two of Lysine. If you have cold sores often, or that take forever to heal, I'd also suggest talking to your doctor, for a minimal copay you can get a prescription that clears sores up really quickly.

Very difficult to put on and when you put make up over the patch it looks like a round sticker with make up on it. It is expensive also.

Ok, all these bad reviews, but here is my honest review. The price is silly for the six little plastics they give you, but if you get the little thing on right, it's better than that bump you see on your lip. I made sure my cold sore was dry, then I cut the circle to the size of my cold sore, then applied it on and made sure it didn't wrinkle on the edges (need patience with this part). Then I used matte lipgloss to cover it up, that way it dried and wouldn't rub off. No one has noticed a thing. It keeps it covered from spreading and makeup irritating it. My cold sore disappeared within three days with being on the antibiotic Acycolviar
Hope my review helps.
Make sure to use matte lipgloss!

I have to agree with the many other reviewers that found that this product does not live up to expectations. It is difficult to apply and does not stay on. Buy the Compeed, that works.
