I bought this heater because I don't like to use glass thermometers in my tank. I've had them break and develop condensation in as little as a few weeks of use. I liked the style of this heater and decided to give it a try. It's very solid, easy to use and holds the temperature very well. It is not as noticeable in the tank as many of the other heaters are and because of its slim size, it is easy to hide behind plants and other aquarium decor.

This heater which worked so well has suddenly died. Fortunately I always run a backup heater on my tank so I didn't lose any fish but I am really disappointed that a heater that functioned so well initially lasted only a couple of months. Guess I'll be shopping for a different heater to replace this one.

I purchased the heater on April 10, 2015 which had been working perfectly until last night (May 11, 2015) the heater stopped working. I was furious thinking that it had failed already. I e-mailed Cobalt Aquatics for help. This morning an e-mail with detailed instructions had been sent to me in response.

It stated that I could unplug the heater for 30 minutes whilst leaving it in the water, and then plug it back in as sort of a "reset". I tried it and it is working perfectly again.

I could not find any resolution in the Amazon Review section to my problem, so hopefully this will help someone in the future.

The e-mail also detailed that if it was indeed defective, they will test and replace the item or to avoid shipping and waiting, they will offer a 50% OFF MSRP to purchase a new one.

A great experience with their customer service department and a satisfied customer.

We had a cheap glass tube heater that came with our "saltwater package".... that was giving us fits and stressing us and the fish with temperature swings. So after much research we settled on this heater and could not be happier! It's clean lines and dark color blend well in the tank. The fact that it has a visible temp gauge was critical to us so we knew exactly what temp it was set at. The instructions to set up are easy. And most importantly it works really really well with no temp swings. Can not recommend this more highly.

I love this heater. It is so streamline you don't really notice it in the tank. It holds the temperature very nicely and I love how it will flash if the temp goes above or below the setting selected. Defiantly a worthwhile investment. No guess work on desired temperature. Just set it & forget it!!

The Cobalt Aquatics Neo Therm heaters are still fairly new to the market, and can be very expensive depending on where you purchase them. This fish-keeper owns six of them ranging from the Neo Therm 50 to the Neo Therm 100.

Thus far, they are performing very well. They are also durable, and do a good job of keeping my planted aquaria heated.

I have been able to purchase the Neo Therm 100 for very competitive prices ranging from about $40 for the first, $50 for the second, and $56 for the third heater, including shipping.

If they are durable over time these will be the best aquarium heaters on the market, in my opinion.

For an inexpensive heater, I still like the Via Aqua series, which are a fraction of the price of the Neo Therm heaters.

As such, I keep several Via Aqua heaters around in the event that I need a spare.

This heater is the best I had buy so far. The design looks awesome and it is underwater so you will not have any problem with your fish tank hood. What I like the most is that it shows you what is the real temperature of the water so this could easily replace any thermometer. Really easy to use and it does not impact the view of your fish tank being all black. Also the holder is made of good material not like other that they break after some time underwater
