Berkley Cherrywood HD Casting Rods, 6-Feet, Medium-Heavy Rod is a winner. I bought this rod for my oldest daughter so she could step up and catch bigger fish but when i got home and casted with it a few times i noticed how flexible,light and smooth it felt. Well a week later my brand new ugly stik gx2 broke at the reel seat and i had to return it for a new one. So i decided to buy this rod and test it out until my ugly stik was returned......Well i received a brand new ugly stik but i am still fishing with this rod. I have absolutely pounded Redfish,Trout and Flounder with it. I use it with a float rig and it is so light and sensitive but yet strong and flexible that fighting a big fish is an easy task. My fishing buddy use to joke about it because i would call it my 20 dollar walmart rod. but now he has went to walmart and bought a few himself. It's the best 20 dollar rod i have ever seen.....period...

Great rod, I am a Berkley fan and all of their products I've had have exceeded my expectations. I got the 7 foot medium heavy casting rod and only got to use it a few times before the season ended but in the short time of using it i was very impressed. I got mine at walmart for 22$ and let me tell you, the rods worth a lot more. Another casting rod I got was a 7 foot medium heavy berkley lightning rod for 30$ at walmart. Another obvious steal, both rods are impressive yet so diffrent. BUY THIS ROD^^^ YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED.

Coupled with a Zebco Platnium 33 easily handled some larger LM and SM bass. Build quality seems good for this price point. Chopped the handle down as it was a bit too long for my taste when kayak fishing.

Giving 5-stars for a rod at the price level. Do any others match/beat it at the price?
Bought for my son (so he'd leave my much more expensive rods and reels alone) and 1st trip bass fishing he caught a few including one that was about 5 to 6 lbs. It got hung up once in grassy reeds and he hauled it out of there when it looked like it was going to be a lost fish and lure, for a moment. He's new to bait casting and got the hang of it fast. Then I tried it out and the rod felt good and cast well. Finish is nice for a rod in it's price class. Never would have thought a rod at it's price could be what the Cherrywood is. I like it well enough I ordered another for myself since none of mine are two-piece and I'll use this one when we hike back into the ponds through the brush not worrying about jabbing and breaking an expensive rod, save mine for for the safe trips. I am really impressed for a rod (6' 6" 2-pc) for just a little over 20$.

Great freaking rod!! Not the best quality. Not the best overall. You can't beat it for the price though. I looked through other reviews not convinced enough to buy it. I can honestly say i'm impressed! Btw this a medium rod, i couldn't find that anywhere on the description.

As expected, I received this rod in excellent condition. Although I am a little leery of the way it way packed and shipped, the fishing pole arrived unscathed.
I like these poles because they light and the sensitivity to feel the fish nibbling at the bait is excellent. I ahve bought two bait casting and one spin rod and am very satisfied with them. The next pole I am considering will be the Berkley 7ft casting lightning rod which will accommodate the ABU GARCIA Pro Max when purchased next.
All in all, these are fine fishing rods which will give everyone years of fishing satisfaction and fun.

Love it. Sensitive but has a strong enough back bone. It's really more of a pond or small lake. Very nice rod for a low price. The color is beautiful as well.
