I bought this to wear on my bike but like the fit and color so well, that I wear it to the gym, too.
I live at the beach and intend to use this jacket for running and cycling in sometimes windy cool weather.
It fits perfectly and really does the job.

I returned my usual size a medium, for a large, and am very very happy with the jacket, overall.

From my review of the jacket in a medium:

This style and brand runs smaller. I'm usually a medium and had to return my first purchase and select a large.

Its a fitted style so doesn't look bulky, even in the large. There is still room for layering, and an adjustment feature at the hip, if needed. There are multiple super features all in one garment, making it an ideal jacket for me.

Even though the fabric is deceivingly tissue thin, its holds in body heat and protects against the wind. The sleeves as one unit, have a "half zipper - half velcro tab" connector. The sleeves are then easily removed without taking off the entire jacket, and easily stow in the very sizable back pocket. The collar then folds over to cover the velcro at the back neck, so nothing gets snagged in it. Good thinking! All the zippers are strong but quite flat, and work easily.

The fabric has a fine, soft feel, and the overall design is very pleasing - from the mesh, to the gusseted elbows, and other interesting features.

Like all the Pearl Izumi cycling stuff I've had it is well made. I am not someone with a "cyclist" body. It was not proportioned well for me. I have a convertible jacket (cannondale) that has snaps. The Pearl Izumi one has zippers. I'm sure it keeps the air out better, but it isn't as easy to convert - that makes a difference when you're standing by the side of the road holding up your bike and putting the sleeves on or off. I also decided it didn't fulfill my needs. I wanted something more wind and water proof so I could us it as a top layer in the winter. I ended up with a Showers Pass jacket and am thrilled.

For a thin jacket, this thing keeps you warm!

I bought this for my Fiancee for xmas.....we were both surprised by how thin it was.....Took it on a mountain ride...temps were high 30's to mid 40's......Protected well! (Used arm warmers and thin jersey beneath).

Was really nice to convert to a vest when the temps warmed up.....

Fits in a jersey pocket.....

However - if you are looking for a super compact - I would recommend the pro-line of the barrier jacket - it's even thinner, and works amazing!

Well made and the fit is true to size; despite most Pearl Izumi women's cycling jerseys running smaller, with the color (Scuba Blue) sort of a 'teal' blue; as pictured. Very attractive on, and while the fabric is very thin and lightweight, it retains heat effectively, but allows for moisture dissipation.

The jacket has a slim fit, and easily converts to a vest. With lots of features, this is a very well thought out jacket for cyclists!

I purchased a Medium which I think equates to a women's size 6-8, with a generous length in the sleeves. It's fitted lines do cut into the hip area somewhat, so if you have full hips, you may want to size up.

A great 3-season jacket: Fall, Spring and Summer in Northern California, it's great for everything except maybe below 40 degrees - and even that depends upon the individual. I think most women will love this lightweight, yet feature packed PI jacket!

Love this jacket! I did a lot of research on light weight windbreaker type vests and jackets before I decided on this product by Pearl Izumi. I have to say that this is the PERFECT jacket for anyone who is active and needs something light to pack for warmth and wind protection. The versatility of being able to remove the sleeves (and having them stay in one piece), is AWESOME. This jacket is made of a wonderful blend of super light weight fabric that is very smooth and soft, definitely not your average rip-stop nylon type. It is warm and breaks the wind. I have not used it in wet conditions yet, but will update if I do. It is very well made, has two great pockets in the front and a zipper pocket in the back, that you can stow your sleeves in if you remove them on the go. The sleeves are extremely easy to remove and re-attach (unlike other jackets of this type).

I live at the beach and intend to use this jacket for running and cycling in sometimes windy cool weather. I will also use it for hiking in the fall. I got the purple one and it has a stylish look so I also throw it in my purse and bring it with me when I go out shopping or for casual dinner. Looks great with jeans or workout/cycling clothes! I get compliments and my friends want to know where I got it.

Overall - this is a great product. The only thing I would say could improve it would be a stow-able hood in the collar. Other than that.. it's perfect. I am planning to order a black one (there are SO many color options) in the same style, and would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a jacket or vest or combo of the like!

*** Note: Pearl Izumi's sizing runs heavily on the small side so size up at least one size unless your super petite.

Excellent jacket - the material is soft and lightweight but does shed water. I got caught in a good downpour the second time I wore it and it kept me dry, except for the water which trickled in at the wrists. I might be able to secure the wrists closer next time, we'll see. The convertible feature works well. I can take the sleeves off without removing the jacket body. I have tried to put the sleeves back on without taking the jacket body off, but it's a little tricky lining up the zippers. Since they are small and lightweight, I decided it was not worth the possibility of damaging the zippers for the small time savings, so I reattach the sleeves when I have the jacket off. No big deal time-wise. The rear pocket is big enough to hold the sleeves plus other items.
