This is the first time I have ever used a crucible or even purchased one before, so I have no idea what better or worse quality would look like.
I ordered this product on Nov. 18th received it week or two later.
Upon receiving the product I was happy, got two bowls, and handle for $20, Bowls looked fine small chips in the bowls nothing that seemed as though it would affect what I needed to do with them; and the handle worked, it fit strangely and didnt allow the bowls to sit flat when they were in the handle, but like I said... it worked, and I have never used a better or worse before this one.
In Dec I was melting down silver to make cross pendants, I was able to make 3 cross pendants before Christmas and then things got busy and I was not able to use this product again until last night, Jan 7th 2015.
I excitedly grabbed some of my silver rounds in order to melt down and make a cross pendant for my wife then rushed out into the shop where I do all my melting, but to my surprise the large bowl I had not used in almost 2-3 weeks hand for some reason crumbled to pieces.
Luckily this product came with two bowls, unfortunately the smaller bowl is very small I melted 1 troy ounce round down in it last night but wouldnt do more than that in it at a time.
I gave this product three stars, but it might have gotten a lot worse if I had ever used another product before this and found this to be abnormal.
