I have since bough quite a few more pairs and the quality and fit has been consistent each time.
These fit great, don't roll or fall down, not too warm.
I am an RN and work many 12 hour shifts in a row and my legs don't hurt after work anymore when I wear these!

To my surprise, these Sockwell knee socks work as well throughout the day/evening as my 20/30 prescription stockings. They give me great support all day, keep my feet warm, and best of all don't look like compression socks. At the end of the day my ankles are just as slim as when I woke up in the morning and my legs don't ache. I liked them so much I re-ordered a second pair (they were on sale). Size 9 shoe, 16" calf = med/large fit perfectly. I hand wash all my compression socks in lukewarm water to help them last as long as possible. I'll be buying more Sockwells. Amazon shipped very fast, reliable as always.

These socks add a good amount of compression. I am a young nurse who is on her feet 12.5hrs a day and these work well, although I could tolerate a stronger compression. I guess these are good for people who are just getting used to tight socks. I am a size 9.5 but have very narrow feet/calf so I am a size small/medium, even though the package says I would be a large. If you are stuck between sizes and can tolerate a snug fit (not in the toe box!) then size down.

They are great! They are so tight that I have to struggle a bit to get them on and off, but I really appreciate their strength once I'm up and running. I'm a medical student on my surgery rotation, which means upwards of 30 hours standing and running around at a time. These really helped me get through those calls without aching feet!

I have small spider veins in my ankles and a varicose vein is forming on one of my calves. Researching how I can stop the spread of these, one of the recommendations was for support stockings. "Oh great" I thought, it's bad enough that I'm aging, now I'm going to have to wear old lady support socks. Then I saw these. Since I wear pants all winter, with knee highs I ordered 2 of them. They're not cheap and I figured I'd wear one pair and have one pair to wash. Well, the first morning I put them on...as soon as I got to work I went online and ordered 4 more pair so that I would have close to a week's worth. And until they arrived I washed out the pair I'd worn by hand, so that they would be dry for the day after I'd worn the 2nd pair. I also suffer from restless legs and these socks help. Sit all day at the computer and these socks help. And they don't look like support stockings. I ordered large; wear a size 9 (40) shoe. The toe area has a bit of room left but I like that because when I slip my feet into boots the toe area doesn't end up getting all tight and uncomfortable.

In order to make these expensive babies last, I put them in a lingerie bag before throwing them into the wash. I don't turn them inside out as they advise since I've put them in the lingerie bag. And I hang them to dry although they say you can put them in the dryer. I want them to last a long, long time so treat them like I treat my expensive lingerie. They make a leg "sleeve" for when summer comes but so far only in dark colors. I'll buy at least one of those but hope that they make some light colors to wear under white and khaki pants. I would like to be able to have these "feel good" legs all around. I also hope that they can find some way to make the summer ones in less warm fiber. These wool/bamboo socks will keep you toasty warm!

I bought these socks as a recommendation from a few co-workers. We are on our feet all day. ..I had been using Nurse Mates compression socks. .. which I now know are no comparrison to these sicks.....the material is sooo soft and comfortable. .. my legs do not feel tired at all by the end of the day. ...soooooo comfortable

These socks are heavenly; tough, comfortable, non-binding and they work as compression socks. The top stays up but doesn't constrict, and I am a larger gal. The colors make them look like normal socks. I liked them so well I ordered more of them. I think they'll also make a great first layer sock for hiking as well, since they aren't cotton.

I purchased this pair of compression socks for a long flight to Europe. I have never worn compression socks but heard they could help prevent foot & leg swelling (which I battle daily) so thought I would give them a try. The final word is they worked great!!! They were a little tight going on (but since they are compression socks I expected that!) but not too tight as to make them difficult to get on or pull up. They seemed a little thick at first but quite cushiony and very comfortable throughout my 9 hour flight. I will definitely use these every time I fly or take road trips - I experienced no swelling on the trip over (having an empty seat next to me providing a little extra leg room helped also) and only slight swelling on the trip home (with NO extra leg space)! Definitely worth the money & I would definitely recommend!! Awesome quality & awesome buy!

I love these socks BUT one major flaw....the knitted pattern means that there are heavy threads on the inside of the sock that leave painful impressions on your legs. They are also what I would consider winter weight....not for warm weather.
