After using this last night to make three quarts of sausage gravy and realizing it is my favorite pan in the kitchen I decided it was time to write a review. I've had this pan for over a year. I was in Macy's during a Christmas sale, I had a coupon and it was already on sale. I walked past it and the price was so low I had to look at it. I finally decided to give a try because I've been looking for that perfect stockpot/dutch oven for a while. They always seem too high and narrow and they are awkward to handle and cook with. I'll admit I'm picky when it comes to cookware. Most of my cookware Calphalon however I've been really disappointed with the direction they've taken. I've wondered if they lost a key designer or some common sense so I've had to branch out. I tried a Le Creuset and the Caphalon dutch ovens and I hated them. This pan does the trick. I find myself reaching for it all the time. I love that they've chosen the Rondeau style versus the high sided skinny pot. It is 12" across so you have to use a large burner. If I had to replace it, I'd easily pay $100 for this pan.

I am a Circulon fan so I got what I expected from this manufacturer in terms of sturdiness and well made performance. I am very happy with the size of the Dutch oven, which is what I needed for making sauces and one pot meals. It fits a whole chicken with lots of veggies, a full size roast for stove top stews, etc. It is exactly what I needed. I love it.

DISHES THAT HAVE INGREDIENTS THAT YOU DON'T WANT TO MASH WHILE STIRRING, SUCH AS POTATOES, TOFU, ETC. IT MIGHT BE TOO LARGE FOR SMALLER FAMILIES BUT FOR ME IT'S PERFECT...WE'RE ONLY A FAMILY OF 3 BUT I CAN COOK ENOUGH TO HAVE LEFTOVERS THE NEXT DAY TOO.

I love this pan! It is a great size for make a large batch of soup, chili, stew, well, a large batch of anything! And the non-stick qualities are really nice when making foods that tend to stick to other pans and then burn.

Update: 11/21/2015 I sent this pan off to goodwill last week because it warped badly! What a waste of money.

This pan was so good that after I bought one, a month later I bought a second one. We own a gas stove that has to large burners who when put on high often would burn the handles on many of our pans. So the pan's width was what initially attracted me to it. But once I got the first one, I realized often I wanted to use both my large front burners and found myself swapping contents mid-stream.

The pan's positive features are for me: 1) can use metal utensils, 2) rubber handles that don't get hot and 3) the pan's size which is perfect for large gas stoves.
