I have occasional asthma, brought on my mold and smoke, both irritants encountered sometimes when traveling. I find salt inhalers effective at breaking up the resultant congestion. However, the ceramic ones are heavy and not always easy to take along on trips. This little item is light, easy to carry in a bag or pocket and works for me to get relief from congestion. My husband similarly finds his useful on his longer business trips.

If you find salt inhalation an effective treatment for congestion, then this may also work for you as a portable, in-pocket device. Just be aware that it is a salt inhaler, not a spray or other type inhaler. Salt inhalers usually need about 15-20min a day to treat congestion. This one is no different but I find I can combine it with the larger inhalers when necessary I.e. Use the larger one am/pm and this, if out of home during the day and so build up the 20mins, if I do not intend to do it all at once. It is also effective as a stand alone device i.e. to use for the full time by itself.

It does need specialized refills but they are currently reasonably enough priced. However, the description does not explicitly state that these refills are needed and thus constitute an ongoing expense. Hence the one star deduction.
However, if you find salt inhalers effective and if you travel or are away from home regularly, then this little device is useful to have on hand.

I've had BAD asthma for years.

But you have to use them a few times a day and hit the thing like you are hitting 4 foot bong..to get the stuff
deep in your lungs...shake it first... I just ordered 5 more.

From the hairbrain department.
The govt are spraying barium and aluminum to simulate ozone and block the sun to keep the plants from dying...from too much UV. It's why the sky is not TRUE BLUE anymore. The result.. you breath in the stuff and you get screwed up lungs. You need this. Trust me. The Ceramic ones are nice for home and office. This is portable. Nice. Pocket size.

There was nothing wrong with the packaging or the item, meaning it was not broken or used or anything bad. However, this did not do anything for me or help my asthma at all (I do have a rescue inhaler that I use, and this was hopefully just to be a helpful booster to compliment it). Unfortunately, the only thing it did do was dry out my lungs and cause some chest discomfort/scratchy throat. No problems with the items arrival or the selller either, just that the product did not work for me.

This is very handy and slips right in your pocket. It's very light compared to the mug/pipe style so can be used more conveniently and in more places. You do need to buy replacement cartridges for a little less than half the cost of a new device. They recommend a new cartridge be put in every 90 days. Although it's easy to suck on with the attached clear grille bottom, I take the grille bottom off when using just to make it a tiny bit easier to suck in. The device seems to have marginally improved a mild chronic infection. I continue to use it for 20 minutes (15-20 minutes is recommended) every day.
