These boxes of food are very sturdy and should survive my very rough play grandson. He loves the great variety of breakfast foods, lunch, dinner, snacks and deserts. The only thing I wish was different is that the boxes of food are full size and I think it would be better if they were smaller and took up less storage room. Also they would match the rest of his play food which is all smaller than real life size.

I didn't read the details of the grocery boxes carefully enough. I had purchased the other wooden and plastic smaller sized kitchen food items so I was surprised when they were so large. I wish Melissa and Doug kitchen items would keep a consistent size to their items so each one is adding to a kitchen set.

Boxes were almost the size of normal real boxes and NO way would they fit in a childs kitchen set. Very disappointed and were returned.

I bought these boxed "groceries" for my daughter (22mo) as an early Christmas gift. She was so thrilled to play with these because they look like the real thing. She uses these with her shopping cart and enjoys pretending to shop like mommy. These are high quality cardboard box toys and if wet or used too rough, they will break. They are meant for children that are old enough to not put them in their mouths. Really great and realistic toy groceries.

Strong cardboard boxes, good sizes, lifelike. My girls went through so many small, "pretend" cheap grocery boxes I was looking for something that wouldn't bend or tear so easily. These are holding up well so I'm very happy about that! If you want pretend grocery boxes that will last for a while definitely recommend these.

Well, I'm sure it's my own fault why I don't like this, because I obviously didn't read the description very well. These are FULL sized boxes, the same as you have in your pantry. If you are trying to conserve room this is not the set for you...plus they seem huge in comparison with most child's play cookware. Honestly, if I had realized they were full-sized I'd have just saved boxes from my pantry and given them to the kids...just ordered some different ones, that are smaller and better for pretend play. On the plus side, they are made well, but still I wish I hadn't gotten them.

I was hoping that these food boxes would be like most other Melissa and Doug products and they would be solid wood boxes. These were much more heavy duty than most "food boxes" but not what I expected. They were also real sized boxes. So most won't fit in my daughters play kitchen.

I have been a fan of Melissa and Doug toys since my first granddaughter was born 12 years ago and have never been disappointed in a purchase as I have with this one. Their pretend cooking, shopping , etc toys are great. I can't believe that these boxes are from the same company.

I bought them for my youngest grandchild who loves to go to the super market in her kitchen. After assembling them, they are as large as or larger than actual boxes from the supermarket. The whole point was to have smaller pretend boxes for a child. I could have just emptied out cereal or mac and cheese boxes without going through ordering, re packing, shipping, etc to her.

What were they thinking! I would not recommend purchasing this product, you can empty boxes and spend money on something else.
