As stated in the subject line, this review is for the Neewer 1/4" Screw Hand Holder. With a dozen products to choose from on the product page at the time I ordered I wanted to make it easier for prospective purchasers to find the review they were looking for!
Also, Amazon has published significantly better photos of this hand grip than they had when I purchased mine. from the package to the product details, all far better than they'd previously been. I did however, upload photos of my own to show exactly what the item looks like, as we all know a lot of off brand items here on Amazon don't look exactly like they do in the photos once you receive them.
The handle did arrive in a cardboard and plastic package exactly as pictured. Once opened the package contains the hand grip as well as a metal clip. The foam grip itself is rather large in diameter and long enough that you don't have to worry about not having a place for all your fingers. As you can tell the shape of the indentions is different from the product photos. In fact, my only real complaint is the blue finger "indentions". They're sized more for a gorilla hand than human ones. If you're expecting your fingers to nestle in the grip, be aware it'll likely be more clumsy than comfortable. However, the indentions aren't that deep and the foam is rather firm so, it isn't too much of an issue.
The grip does include the clear rubber washer which, yes, does keep the handle from potentially scratching your camera, but more importantly it provides tension when you screw the grip down, keeping the handle firmly attached to your camera/mount/etc. It doesn't appear the washer would fall off easily so loosing it doesn't pose an immediate problem.Read more ›
