The Good : These headphones have a good sound, well for headphones I guess you could even say great. i have not owned an AC30 Vox amp so can't compare to the real thing.
They are also comfortable on your head & especially so on your ears - the padding is very good.
Thats about it for the Good !

The Bad : The cable that connects these headphones to your guitar is way too short, it fits but it could have been another 2 feet long to make it more comfortable.
The control dials located on the left earphone piece are recessed and impossible to access while wearing them on your head. You have to take them off to alter then - So Make Sure you're Wearing a Strap if You're playing Sitting Down ! - also the cable ( again ) is connected to the left headphone piece, this means the cable has to go behind you or between you and your guitar.
If running it behind you its not comfortable - its too short - if running between you an guitar then it will pull on your headphones as it gets 'caught' as you lean forward then back.
It seems that the technicians that develop things , like headphone amplifiers , arern't guitar players themselves because for a right handed guitar player the cable should connect to the right side of the headphone piece. This wouls give an unhindered line from the guitar jack to the headphone ...but obviously thats too simple for the technicians at Vox. (btw it's ok for lefties as it is)
Overall I said it was okay, just ! For the price its not worth it at all though the Vox Amplug ( which I also have ) is a far better choice, you can use your own digital headphones which are probably heaps longer then the Vox AC30 AGH.
So save your money.
My advice to Vox ... find some technicians that actually play the guitar !

Got these from my wife for Christmas yesterday and hooked them up as soon as I could. The plastic is somewhat cheap but likely contributes to how light they are which is nice. The pros make this a great item, the cons I can live with.

Pros:
1) Amazing sound, I'm getting some really nice tone out of these with my LAG acoustic electric
2) They have the VOX AmPlug AC30 basics but add a tone control which I now wish the AmPlug AC30 had (I have that item too)

Cons:
1) The most significant issue is that there's little mention of the tone control in the manual. It is marked from 1-10 but there's no description for what the numbers represent. I have it set on 8 which sounds great but being a beginner I have no idea what mix of reverb, chorus, and delay I am hearing.
2) The cable is a little short and not at all heavy duty, I worry about snagging it and damaging it
3) The ear cups are round and only just big enough to fit me, wish they were slightly larger or elongated for a better fit

I recommend these and would buy another pair if they broke or were lost.

I got these as a gift and I am really impressed. This is the simplest way practice by yourself on an electric guitar, just plug it in and jam. Since there are no other boxes or things to plug in you can stand up and walk around without tripping over wires or ripping the headphones off.

I have played with them for hours using a MIJ Strat and the tone is surprisingly good considering there are no tubes to be found anywhere and the whole thing runs on 2 AA batteries (included). The "gain" and "tone" can dial in overdrive while the effects add enough to make it all seem much bigger than it really is. So far though, I have not turned the volume up past 3 in a quite living room, so they have plenty of headroom if you have to overcome a loud environment.
If you have a chance, set the gain to 8, tone to 6, volume to 3 and effects to 6, then select the bridge pickup, volume 10, tone 5 and play something simple like "e, a, b" power chords or a blues shuffle. (sure it will sound different on your guitar, but it should sound pretty thick and tasty somewhere around there)

With the AUX in I can play to music on my smartphone or laptop (cable not supplied but it is a basic 1/4 stereo to 1/4 stereo type).
Battery life seems good, I have been using them for at least 10 hours on the factory batteries and it's still going (the manual says 16 for alkaline).
The headband gets big enough to fit over my head with plenty of room to spare (seems roomy compared to others headphones I have tried).
These are light weight and fit completely over the ears and the pads feel good, not too tight.
Lastly, they work as regular headphones without the guitar.

If I had any complaints, the plastic is very plastic (if that makes any sense), I don't think they are going to win any design awards based on looks and feel but they seem like they will hold up.

Bottom line, I would recommend them to a friend.

3 duds. I'm surprised that I haven't seen any other problems with this item. When it works it works great but it doesn't last. I've had three of these now and after about a week or so of use they just die. Can't explain it. Luckily the first two I was able to return and exchange. Not so this time. It worked a little bit longer so my return window expired. I can understand one defective unit, BUT THREE?? POS. now I just use them for headphone for an iRig HD. I don't write reviews often but you guys deserve to know.
