These knobs are inexpensive, but are high quality, just the same. The shell of the knob, where it slides over the
shaft of the pot is plastic...to be expected in a push on knob, but the outside of the knob is knurled metal with a
nice looking black finish. I like everything about these knobs except for one thing....they fit too tight on the CTS
pots I use. Had to ream them a little, but it worked out fine in the end. From the weight, I'm guessing that the
shell might be made from brass, making these knobs a good deal.

...they do NOT fit Fender CTS pots, and i actually broke my pot trying to push it on..( and wasn't pushing hard at all...) ...it should NOT be listed as Fender replacement since that's largely what they use, and that's what mislead me....but the knobs themselves are decent

I bought this part along with some other basic cheap parts to re-vamp an old, cheap P-style bass guitar (I literally found laying in dirt) that was destined for a landfill. I didn't want to spend much considering the guitar wasn't worth much to begin with. This part was in the right price range and built well. After a little work and under $60, I know have a ngreat looking bass guitar that plays nicely.
