This is a fabulous phone protector. Yes, it does increase the size of your phone a tad. Yes, it does increase the weight a tab. So what? Just yesterday, I dropped my phone three times and once on a hard surface with this case performing with flying colors. This case will protect your phone from just about anything. However I use the case without the screen guard provided by Ballistic. Instead, I bought a clear screen protector from Zagg which meets military specs for helicopter blades and the combination is just right. I also don't feel the need to use the holster that came with the case though it is a very good holster. One little note, when you pull your lightning cord from the Iphone 5, please make sure the case flap that protects this port is out of the way.

FYI, I had bought a cheapo case from a national electronics retailer hoping that it would do the trick. Actually it costs the same as this one, but was very limited and could not really protect the phone from any kind of drop. Then I bought another case--the Ballistic LS0955-M355 Ballistic LS Smooth--from Ballistic itself and found out that (a) Ballistic charges list prices from their website and you end up paying an exorbitant price for an inferior product. The Ballistic LS0955-M355 Ballistic LS Smooth offers no protection from a drop when the bottom of your phone hits an obstacle because the silicon stuff is too loose and just pushes right out of the way of any kind of obstacle your phone may hit.

I returned that one and bought this one which I am evaluating--the Ballistic SX0945-M355 SZG Maxx and am absolutely delighted with my purchase. It is well designed and well thought through. It is guaranteed to take a 15 foot drop without any problems, and all the Iphone 5 ports, buttons, cameras, speakers are easily accessible without any problem whatsoever.

I've trusted Ballistic cases for all my electronics. This is the first time using the SG MAXX and it's a great product at this price point. Buying from the BALLISTIC website is considerably more money. This case has smooth sides unlike the Hard case and it fits slimmer in your pocket. All four corners are heavily padded and it comes with an optional clear front screen protector that does make it a little difficult to navigate the touch screen easily. I stopped using mine but it does add great screen protection. I don't use the large black hard case wit the clip. Frankly it looks unattractive and it's huge. To each his own. If you are considering this case from AMAZON you wont regret it.

This iPhone 5 case represents yet another attempt to find a durable, useful case/belt holder for my phone. My pockets are already full of other things I have carried for decades, so I carry my phone on my belt. It seems the cases I've purchased, probably nearly a dozen by now, all have some problem which causes me to move on to try something else.

This Ballistic Maxx case has great promise for long term use. Previously, the longest I've used a case has been about 10 months before the belt clip broke. This Ballistic Maxx case provides a silicon soft cover with generously cushioned corners which goes on the phone very easily. The silicon is held in place by a wrap around hard plastic case with a soft silicon back. There is also a clear screen shield that is secured by the silicon cover, however, I have a very thin glass cover on my screen and while the included clear cover fits my phone nicely, it makes it quite difficult to use the screen touch feature of the phone. Without this screen shield the phone cover fits my phone well enough but not as snugly as I'd like, but my screen touch works like it is supposed to. As far as the belt holder, the one that comes with the Ballistic Maxx is well made and fits the phone well. There is a generous wrap around ledge along the bottom for the phone to sit on and in, but the phone has to be placed squarely in the ledge to get the latch at the top to snap into a small slot on both side of the hard phone shell. This holster allows the phone to be secured in the holster either facing in or facing out. This allows the phone to be carried face in when it's on the belt and face out when off the belt. Another feature I like about this holster is that the back plate of the holster is cut low on both sides of the latch and belt clip.Read more ›

For those of you like me running around with a release day iphone 5s and really really need a shock proofcase, this is perfect. My finger print scanner works just fine and I do not worry about dropping my phone too much anymore because this case is comfortable and provides a great amount of protection. I just dont like the included screen guard and I opt for the invisible shield. Right know i am using the zagg HD but i have placed an order for their extreme and i hope it would not interfere with this case (i will post an update once i try it out). This is perfect and it is much cheaper on amazon! i got it for $15 and on their actual website it was going for $40. I have prime so shipping is outta the question. This case will protect your iphone 5s or 5 with no problems. I was hesitant to purchase this for my 5s because it was still knew and there arent a lot of review for the cases, but this a very well built case for the iPhone 5s. I climb in and out of an ambulance almost daily and I no longer worry about drops and the included holster is comfortable and really does add another layer of protection. if you are in the field with an iphone 5s i suggest this case if you do not need anything thats waterproof, this case is perfect for us!
