24okbuy was responsive. It took awhile to ship because they are based in China, but it was worth the wait. The Atheros AR5BXB112 worked immediately out of the box with my Toshiba M115-S3094 laptop running OSX Snow Leopard 10.6.8. It did not require a kext or dsdt or anything. It just worked with the native Apple Airport driver. My laptop only had two antenna wires, so I also purchased another pair of wires from 24okbuy and was able to fit one in by winding it in a circle on top of the modem. I'm very pleased with this wifi solution.

Shipped earlier than expected, came in an anti-static bag and had mounting screws. Works natively in OSX and windows, Haven't tried Linux yet.

This airport extreme card was easy to install in my Mac Pro and was plug and play. But, I purchased it to add continuity features. That will not work because this card is not a Broadcom card. This limitation has nothing to do with the product, I just ordered it before I had done proper research. I have since ordered Broadcom BCM94360CD which gives me bluetooth 4.0 and wireless. This should give me the continuity features I'm looking for.

I docked it two stars because there is a better option available (see above) for not much extra money. I did not dock it any stars because it didn't work for me. That was my own fault for choosing the wrong product.

I ordered this as a replacement part for a 17 inch Macbook Pro. The old one would turn off intermittently. So far this one works with no trouble and gets great speed.

I ordered this hoping to get my trusty MacPro 2006 (running Lion) on the ol' wifi. (It's a long story why.)

All the way from Hong Kong arrived a puny padded bag with the card in a static bag wrapped in minimal padding. No screws, no instructions, nothing else.

After sweeping the internet for various instructions (and opinions) on how to fit these cards, I plugged my anti-static wrist wrap in and installed the card as carefully as could be. The Mac did not recognize it. Googled again for this issue and found lots of people with the same problem. Sighed, rolled eyes. Cleaned contacts on both ends and reseated it. Nothing. Another reseat, nothing. Tried a different configuration of antennas thinking their might be some anomaly--the Mac should see the card even with no antennas attached--nothing. Another one, and the middle socket broke off the card on pulling the plug off.

I filled in the item-not-working form on Amazon and the nice vendors quickly responded and refunded my money, including postage. They said all their products are tested before they leave their facility but some get broken in transit from Hong Kong (not surprisingly).

Still, I can't recommend buying one of these unless you're willing to roll the dice then wait three weeks for delivery then see if lady luck is with you. It's the first time I've ordered anything from outside the country, and now it's the last. Now I'm off to my local Mac dealer to see if they have a better solution, possibly a USB adapter for around the same price... yes, I should have done that in the first place, but Amazon is such a go-to these days... must remember to research the local option...

This wireless card worked perfectly within my early 2008 MacBook Pro. Now this laptop has 450 Mbs wireless bandwidth and can take advantage of my new 450 Mbs wireless router and access points.

I bought one also for my brother's Asus G2S to use it with OS X. also no luck. aster weeks of trying I found some one said that I should test its vendor.

open a terminal. write "lspci" then enter. you should find it listed as atheros inc. if you see its vendor then its ok. but if you find "abcd" or "unknown" then it is faulty firmware and it will not work in mac.

mine showed "abcd" so I tried windows 8.1 and it worked.

I have to find another one to use it with OS X.

I installed this card in my early 2008 MacBook Pro 17", Had no issues and was an easy install. Saved a lot of money compared to having Apple fixing my computer.
