Now weight just a minute...

I really like this set of weights. The blue case they came in was damaged and I discarded the top lid of it, but that's fine because they don't often travel. They are very clean and nicely made, weigh within .01g of the listed weight (from what I see) and were quite affordable. Great product.

Good weight bad case

I bought this set for calibrating and testing a new scale. I can't say 100% that they are accurate, but after calibrating my scale using the 100g weight, the 50g read as 50g, 5g read as 5g, etc.

Had to take a star off because the case came broken. Both hinges were ripped off and a chunk of plastic was broken off the front. It came in a standard, unpadded mail pouch. Either use a sturdier plastic, or invest in some bubble wrap please!

Used for pots

Not used for jewelry. I weigh out my ingredients for glazes and clays on my wife's electronic diet scale. Wasn't to worried about the big quantities like over 50 gms. under 50 gms was the question. I checked out the weights separately and they checked out perfectly. on my scale, or my wife's, I now know that 7 gms of cobalt oxide IS 7 gms.

Good weights but useless tweezers and cheap looking box - for around $9 good value.

Bought to determine if my (Walmart bought) kitchen digital scales are relatively accurate. The "tweezers" (probably not the correct term) aren't much use and you're more likely to find they drop the weights by using them - but each weight (205g in total - though the outside of the box says 200g) displayed accurately on my scales. On occasion depending on the scales used you may need to give it a couple of seconds to settle.

Of course my scales could be off and these weights merely prove this but perhaps that's merely a journey into the land of paranoia.

I'm happy with this item.

Good Weights for Calibration

The plastic box box was damaged and some of the weights were loose in the package on arrival. I have since glued the box back together but can't do anything about the damaged hinges. Otherwise it is just what I was looking to use for checking the accuracy of a small scale.

Where's the MFR calibration certificate?

This set is OK, however, there is no statement of intrinsic accuracy. That is. the manufacturer's production processes the gives the product a +/- tolerance without further calibration efforts. A traceable calibration could cost hundreds of dollars depending on intended use. A basic manufacturer's intrinsic accuracy statement would help consumer make a decision about the usability of the weights for their intended purpose.
