Great Self-Protection Light!

This is the new and updated version of the 6px defender, so make sure you get this exact one (this one is the 320 lumen version as opposed to the older 200 lumen version). The beam on this light is perfectly shaped with no rings or abnormalities and will allow you to investigate things ~100 yards out easily. The color temperature of this new LED is the best one out of my entire collection of lights -- a nice neutral white color with no blue tint, finally! The scalloped head will be very handy if someone gets too close for comfort and is sharp so be careful where you place it. Yes, Surefire is expensive, but it's worth it's weight in gold when it comes to reliability and fit/finish.

This is AWESOME! Its super bright and i think very affordable. The strike bezel is strong, sharp (no not too sharp), and durable. I bought this to replace my old EDC light that i lost. I can't imagine going back to that crappy little 40 lumen light now. This is bright and awesome. Solid construction, durable finish, and easy to use. I also purchased a Pocket clip from Raven Concealment and put that on this flashlight so i have a place to clip it and it just isn't rolling around in a pocket. I use this daily at work, home, or just for random tasks that require more light all the time.

This light is perfect for distance or lighting up a room or other large area (ie a yard, street). It works amazing for disorienting an attacker or blinding your friends when you feel like being funny. It is brighter than the headlights on my car and lights up my back yard like the sun!

With that said, The only thing i would caution against is that this is very bright, almost too bright at times. If you intend to use this as a light for small jobs or on tiny things it may blind you a bit. For example, if you use this to look inside a dark box, clear the chamber on a firearm, find something in your dresser drawer at midnight... your probably going to blind yourself a bit. It gives you full power at 320 lumens all the time. Its great if thats what your after, and its something you can get used to if your not (just don't point the light directly at what you want to illuminate)

but if you tend to use a light for little things like when you drop your keys in your driveway, or need a light to find your way around a campsite after dark, and want the option of a dim light as well as the HOLY CRAP light, then i would go with a 6px dual output. It will solve all of your lighting needs. I personally like to have the maximum light all the time!

BRIGHT flashlight!!

I bought this flashlight to carry with me in dark places. It is amazingly bright! It lights up a big area, making it easy to find what you're looking for (that darn cat got outside again), or reveal people or hazards that might be in your path. I don't go anywhere without it!

Exactly What I Wanted - Thrilled About Increase To 320 Lumens

We already had one of these flashlights in the family and when I realized how much I was borrowing it decided to get my own.

Love the way it switches on, a single push gives full brightness for self defense purposes; push for momentary on, push farther (to the click) for constant on.

Batteries last a long time also.

Very durable too

This bad boy is BRIGHT

I needed a new flashlight for training, as well as every day use. This bad boy is BRIGHT, but not too bright. I love the beveled edge, and it's not so sharp that I'm afraid I will cut myself on it, or too sharp for TSA checkpoints...well, yet.
You can also slightly unscrew the battery compartment cap to prevent accidental operation during travel - which is a nice feature.

Nice little torch!

WOW! This is a fiery little light.
Mine arrived the same week I bought it, and arrived in the factory blister pack, overwrapped in bubbles, in a mailing box.
Upon unwrapping I discovered that the lamp wouldn't come on, the light is packed with the tailcap unscrewed about half a turn. This functions as a lockout since the pushbutton on the rear is entirely exposed. This is a nice feature if you plan to throw this light in as bag where it might otherwise be activated.
Upon tightening the tailcap and pushing the tail switch, I unleashed the full fury of the 320 lumen LED illuminator. Jiminy Whilickers this thing is bright! In a fully sunlit room this thing is still impressive!
There are two versions of this light, one is a measly 200 lumens which I enough to give your victim a sunburn, but this thing will leave him with blisters and no eyebrows!
I'm especially a fan of the fact that this light has a true momentary switch. As you start to press the switch, the light comes on. Pressing a little harder there is an audible and tactile click indicating that the light is locked on. Releasing before that click is felt will allow you to flash the light.
The crenelations on the "strike bezel" are agressive enough to ensure that an attacker has a bad day without severing an artery (or worse) if you stick it in your pocket.
All in all, I give the light 5 stars based off Surefire's reputation that this light will continue to work as intended for years and years.
