Updated Review:
After my previous bad experience with these Crescent sent me a replacement set.
The quality of the replacement set was good, I can't imagine how the faulty set made it to the shelf.

I am completely satisfied with the new set, the wrenches are solid and reliable. I don't foresee premature failure with these. The box end really grips securely and I haven't came across any situations where they've slipped.

I'd rate 5 stars, but i have to remove one for the initial bad experience, which is think is fair.

This Product is horrible.
Cheap doesn't even begin to describe this thing. I run a small auto service shop and decided that this general design would be ideal for oil changes, with the box end being ideal for loosening the drain cock and the open ratchet end for removing it .

I wish I could post actual pictures of this thing. The metal is painted to try to hide the horrid casting and of course one of the wrenches had the ratchet mechanism missing (the 12mm) .

These wrenches will not stand up to any real work,i'm very disappointed, I wish I could return them, but I'm an international customer and the return shipping just wouldn't be worth it. I would imagine this entire set of wrenches should cost about $4. Believe it or not, this thing is super over priced, even at this price, its horrible.

poor and cheap build quality
will not last
ratchet mechanism will fail and fall out(one of mine arrived thus).

An absolute discredit to the Crescent name

So I use wrenches literally every day because of the nature of my main job, as an installation tech for a cable company I figured having an open ended speed wrench would make my cable connections tighten down faster.

The problem is that the cutout for the open ended speed wrench with this kit has a small metal nub that gets jammed consistently, I actually worked more efficiently with just some cheapo chrome vandium wrenches from my local WalMart!

This is my third set of ratcheting open ended wrenches. With that said, they are just ok.

I used practically all of them within the first few hours of owning them.

The black coating for me is a not a good thing. The black matte finish does not reflect any light like chrome wrenches. This also makes them easy to lose under the hood of a car or when working on anything that is the least bit dark. The coating does add a bit of a grip to them though. But at the end of the day, I'd rather have easy to see/spot chrome wrenches.

The multipoint design that works with hex, 12 point, external Torx, etc. is quite nice. Zero issues with that.

The main feature is the open end ratcheting action. For this they get low marks. Reason being is that the ratcheting feature works well so long as the bolt or nut is still really tight, but once it becomes the least bit loose the ratcheting tends not to work and can (in some cases) even tighten it as you are trying to ratchet it loose. Or at best the ratcheting feature just simply does not catch.

On the wrenches I use the most (the 14mm and 17mm), the ratcheting mechanism that plunges in and out has become very loose. This has caused those wrenches to become even more fidgety when trying to use them.

The closed end is great, no flaws with it.

For someone looking for a quality set of ratcheting open end wrenches, I'd pass on these and grab a set of Ratcha Wrex wrenches.

Nice because it's a 12 point closed wrench. But as far as the ratcheting open end they are useless. I use tools everyday and have been trying to give these guys a chance on multiple instances. Not worth it.

These are great but keep in mind that only the open end has ratcheting action. The closed end is a standard wrench basically. However they do work pretty good. I needed these to install some racing seats in my car and couldnt reach under the seat to bolt them in very easily so I got these for that purpose. A socket wrench would not fit so I used these and had the seats installed in no time.

Nice set of wrenches which I don't use much, but when I need a wrench, these are great. Very precise, nice looking, good design, not too short or too long, appears to be very strong, but I ain't so who knows? :) Nice variety of wrenches that appear to cover all the bases I need them to.

to be honest thought these were gonna be rubbish but really nice tools , have to say the some times a bit hard to make them work but then again it seems to work about 70% of the time i used it so great item , must say the they are special tools and can only be used in special circumstances so careful when you buy these tools -

Excellent little set - packaging and delivery was perfect. - I have used these probably a half dozen times in the month or so that I have had them and I am very pleased with the 12 point design as they especially fit square valve stems much better than 6 pointers.
