Sound quality is not what you would expect from a $99 Bluetooth speaker.
Everyone I show it to says Holy S*** that sounds good!
Try it out at Target or WalMart...

Minus one star because sound output is reduced when running on battery.
Disappointed but expected as it does last 7+ hours.

Ordering a few more for X-Mas!!!

Still going strong.
My above review still holds true in that you can't beat it for $99.
Sure it has its issues as you will read from the other reviews but so far so good.

Pro:
Great sound. Blows the tiny Jambox out of the water. Pretty balanced sound. Will charge your phone as well. And its even louder when connected to the wall outlet. Fits in my my backpack.

Cons:
Has to be paired every time with your device unlike the jambox. So its a little annoying. Its a bit bulky especially with the leather case (don't get me wrong I love the leather case).

Bottom line: Product is great for anyone looking for a portable bluetooth speaker with great sound quality. especially for the price. Great for your next BBQs, Picnics, or any room in your house.

Well, I was a little disappointed with the Soundfreaq sfq-04. The raving reviews compared it to the Bose bass effect for 1/3 the price. I already have the Logitech system, so I thought I would give this a try in my office. So, it's not a bad product in any way, solid, heavier than I thougt(good), and easy to setup. The sound quality is really good, but not "stellar" as I had read in previously. And, I was disappointed in the UQ3 sound enhancement.

Pros:
Sturdy & Heavy
Comes with a nice case.
Sound is good.
Feels well built.
Internal Battery Life.*

Cons:
Bass wasn't as good as has been reviewed by "certain" sites. I wasn't expecting the "Bose Bass", but review sites wrote it was close, and the best bass in it's price class. My Logitech is just as good.....?
The UQ3 is aweful, it sounds tinny and hollow when the volume is raised.

Overall:
I like the product, it really is a good speaker. I guess I am just disappointed with the bass and the UQ3. I would recommend this product. However, if price is an issue, the Logitech sounds as good for $20-30 less, and it comes with a remote.....Logitech's downfall is it's case and build. It feels cheaper. I haven't had any problems with either one, but I don't travel with either one.

*Update 12-10-12 Still very pleased with the sound. I forgot to mention the Soundfreaq has a smaller foot-print on the counter, and the case is an excellent bonus. Sleek, folds away nicely, and can be used to direct sound at an angle. Internal battery life seems to be excellent as well, better than the Logitech.

I recently did some shopping around for a bluetooth speaker that could have a place in my home as well as travel with me.
The sound kick did that really well because it has the sound quality i want when i'm listening to music at home,
and it's sturdy enough for me to just throw it in the case and in a bag and I'm all set.
Here are some quick pros and cons:

Pros:
Sound quality is really even through all frequencies, bass sounds great
Connection over bluetooth is solid, I was able to walk around the house without interrupting the sound.
Bluetooth pairing is quicker and easier than any other bluetooth device I've ever used.
The sound kick with the leather case looks $100 more than it is, it impressed some of my friends before I even turned it on
Price, not only does this speaker look more expensive than it is, it sounds way better than any $100 speaker I've seen.

Cons:
Size, the speaker is quite large when the kick stand is out and especially with the case it takes up a bit of room
The forward and backwards song buttons didn't work with my phone but I haven't tested it with other devices.

Overall I'd recommend this speaker to anyone with an extra $100 to throw at a speaker. You can spend another $50 on a more expensive speaker, but you won't get any better sound quality until quite a few models up.

The good: As far as portable Bluetooth speakers go, the sound quality of the Sound Kick simply can't be beat. I listen to a wide variety of music with this but especially classical stuff with a wide dynamic range, and the Sound Kick has blown every other speaker I've compared it to out of the water in just about every way: the bass is rich and deep, treble is crisp and clear, and the sheer volume output totally kicks other speakers' collective butts (I've compared it side-by-side to the usual suspects in the same price range). Excellent sound quality at a great price: what's not to like? Well ...

The not-so-good: As I see it, the two reasons why one would buy a portable Bluetooth speaker are portability and ease of connectivity, and for me the Sound Kick falls short on both counts. It's considerably blockier and heavier than pretty much every single one of its competitors (JBL Flip, Logitech MiniBoom, Jambox Mini, etc.); I just can't see throwing this into my backpack without giving some serious thought whether it's worth lugging around all day, especially when the power brick is thrown into the equation.

Moreover, I've also had considerable problems keeping this connected via Bluetooth to every single one of my iDevices running iOS 7: the connection drops if playback is paused for more than ten minutes or so, necessitating a new pairing. (Even when the speaker is connected to my device via the headphone jack, it shuts off after 30 minutes of inactivity - this is apparently an energy-saving "feature", but since my Sound Kick needs to be unplugged, turned on, and plugged in again when I'm ready to resume playing music it feels like more of a bug.
