If you want an inexpensive, BIG and functional drawing tablet with responsive pressure sensitivity, this tablet is a worthwhile purchase. I'm very pleased with this tablet and it works well (but NOT perfect - I've updated my thoughts in this review).

I've used Wacom tablets for years. I love them. If you aren't familiar with Wacom tablets - they are the premiere graphics drawing tablets and are often used by the pros. The problem is that Wacom tablets are SO expensive. That's what led me to purchase this tablet instead of a Wacom. Note: I actually ordered it from this product page: Monoprice 10X6.25 Inches Graphic Drawing Tablet but I got THIS tablet (Tursion) that is featured here. They appear to be the same tablet with a different name.

I bought this tablet for my grandmother to go with an older copy of Painter and Sketchbook Pro since I just upgraded both of those for myself. She has been wanting to get back into drawing and painting for awhile now and I wanted to give her a digital means of pursuing her hobby. I started looking at the Wacom tablets but the price was too prohibitive. The only ones close to my budget were the tiny Bamboo tablets and even those were more expensive than this one. I didn't want to purchase a teeny little tablet to draw on (the Bamboo) but I still wanted a good quality drawing tablet with pressure sensitivity. I was a little hesitant when I saw this one. Could it really be any good and so "cheap" at the same time?

I'm glad I bought it. It's really quite amazing for the price! If you are a pro, you are going to want to save for a Wacom. If not, this tablet will probably work out great.Read more ›

No it's not a Wacom. Wacom is top of the line, no question. Well, let me take that back. It's not a Wacom Intuos 5, large. But that'll set you back around $450. That said this is a full-sized tablet with 1024 pressure sensitivity levels and is simply a steal at around $40. Well packaged, well-made, works as it should. Had no installation issues whatsoever. Good pressure sensitivity with the assortment of graphics arts programs I use. Guest Hollow gave a very detailed review that I defer to (only I didn't have any problems with conflicting drivers). Just installed the driver, rebooted PC, plugged it in to USB and viola. No issues. Wanted a full-sized drawing tablet but didn't want to spend Wacom dollars for one. Tried to find one on the auction sites but the used price for anything decent wasn't worth it. Gave this off-brand a shot, glad I did. I'd recommend this to graphic artists, hobbyists, anyone really who wants the functionality of a graphics tablet but doesn't want to part with Wacom dollars. Here's the deal. Is this top of the line? No. Wacom is. But it functions as it's supposed to. Here we have a 10X6.25 tablet (large) with 1024 sensitivity levels that is reasonably well-made for, like, a little over 40 bucks currently. Please. I can vouch that it works... rather well, in fact. Personally, I'd opt for this over the sub-100 Wacoms. It's just a better deal imo. Of course and as always, YMMV.

My computer is running Vista 32 with dual monitors. I've had my Tursion tablet for about a week now. It took some time to get it tweaked to my liking, but now it's working perfectly with a variety of drawing programs.

The drivers are kind of finicky and it took 3 rounds of installing them to get everything working right. I believe they use the same drivers for Win 7, XP and Vista.

This is a UC-Logic tablet and there are drivers available on the UC-Logic website. I downloaded the drivers from UC-Logic, but it turns out the drivers on the disk that comes with the tablet are actually newer. The drivers from the UC-Logic site are version 5 and don't support dual monitors. The drivers on the disk are version 6 and do support dual monitors.

First, if you had another tablet then uninstall any previous drivers (Wacom). Install the new drivers and reboot before plugging in the tablet.

After installing the drivers and plugging in the tablet, find the Tablet Setting icon on your taskbar or in the control panel (not Tablet PC Settings). The dialog box that opens should say Pen Tablet at the top and have a tab for Monitor Setting. If you have the Monitor Setting tab, then you have the dual monitor driver installed.

If you don't see the Monitor Setting tab you can uninstall the drivers by finding the tablet listed in Device Manager. If you uninstall drivers then unplug the tablet and reboot before installing the new drivers and then reboot again before plugging in the tablet.

I selected the Full Monitor setting so the pen moves across both monitors. I like to keep all my tools on the second monitor and my artwork on the primary monitor, but that's up to you. Once the drivers are properly installed the tablet works flawlessly.
