I LOVE movies about WWII and am an amatuer historian. This movie was so bad that I could not even sit through the whole thing! The acting was absolutely pathetic. Stiff, stilted and unbelievable. I wish I had i had not wasted my money on this and would reccomend for real WWII buffs to stay away from this one. Try one of the Saints and Soldiers movies instead.

I was excited to get this movie when I purchased it. After watching it I'm going to sell it back to Amazon. The acting, script, story telling, and narrative are all terrible! Easily one of the worst movies I've ever seen. A high school drama department could make a better movie about this story!

4/16/13 UPDATE: THIS MOVIE IS SO BAD!!... even Amazon is not taking it for a trade-in. I've traded in over 35 movies with Amazon during the past two years, I've never seen Amazon not accept a Blu-Ray version of a movie for trade-in.

Ive seen a lot of crappy movies and didnt mind them such as the crappy national lampoons no name movies and dumb raunchy comedies and I thought that was the worst acting got. Well I was wrong. Ive seen local grocery store commercials with better actors. Whoever produced this movie owes anyone who bought it their money back. The only reason I finished the movie because I was a paratrooper and I was interested to see the story but it was so vague and I had no clue what was going on. DON'T BUY THIS CRAP. This is literally the worst film ive ever seen. And im including training video's for jobs in that.

I love WWII movies. I started watching this one and had to stop. It is an amazingly lame POS. Acting was horrible, setting was cheezy, action scenes looked like they were filmed in somebody's backyard. BAD, BAD, BAD.

War is heck. (I typed `heck' because I'm not sure if Amazon's filters will allow me to type the other word.) The men and women who march into war in the service of protecting our national interests take the greatest risks imaginable. On the rarest of occasions, soldiers undertake covert tasks wherein they know in advance that their chances of survival are slimmer than most, making them virtual suicide missions. The story detail in PATHFINDERS: IN THE COMPANY OF STRANGERS was one such campaign, highlighting a clandestine paratrooper squad dropping behind enemy lines right into the near-waiting arms of the German infantry.

(NOTE: the following review will contain minor spoilers necessary solely for the discussion of plot and characters. If you're the kind of viewer who prefers a review entirely spoiler-free, then I'd encourage you to skip down to the last two paragraphs for my final assessment. If, however, you're accepting of minor hints at `things to come,' then read on ...)

In order for the World War II D-Day of Normandy to be successful, military planners knew they'd need to get a secret radio and signal light stationed inside enemy territory. In order to accomplish this, the troopers would need to be drawn together from different battalions and thrown together at the last minute (so that word of their task could be kept secret). From the moment they leapt out of their airplane, they'd be entirely on their own. There would be no reinforcements, and there could be no second attempt. They'd be racing against the clock to get one radio and one light into position ... or the outcome of the war would be in jeopardy.

To its credit, PATHFINDERS does the best it can on a purported budget of $50 (hat/tip: IMDB.com), which really isn't saying much.

This story had the makings of a great movie. Unfortunately, it had a weak script, and acting. I would love to see this story retold.

The acting was very stiff and it detracted from the movie greatly. It was very difficult to watch, but since I put up the money to rent it in HD, I had to suffer through it.

I read "Night Drop" years ago. The movie is a rendition of how a disparate group of young men ended up together as result of "every thing is snafu". They fought the enemy on their turf with no one, including the Germans, having a full understanding of what a cluster the drop was for everybody. Luck, being at the right place at the right time, determined success of missions. Many Americans died on flooded fields due to shenanigans by German engineers. More died in the confusion of landing at night in hostile territory. Some, just a few actually. were able to set up lights for landing craft. It was enough. And so goes the messiness of war on the night before Market Garden. Strangers really did the dirty work. The director did not explain the way '"Strangers" came together adequately so they could fulfill the mission of finding a path for others. They did, earing their name with honor.
