Along with this Nerf Super Soaker water gun, I have three other Super Soakers with replaceable clips. I own the Thunderstorm (battery operated), Shotwave Blaster, and Switch Shot Blaster. I also have extra clips including the large drum clip. All my nieces and nephews (all age 10 and under) had great fun except for this, the Arctic Blast. The ability to remove the clip was a hassle. It was very difficult for young kids even the ten year old boy to remove and replace clips on this thing. Unlike the other Super Soakers I have, you have to hold down both release buttons and then pull out with some force on the clip. Not very user friendly, quick, or fun to do. I actually did replace it at the place I purchased it because I thought it was broken. The only major advantage is that the water hole on the clip was large enough that it was easy to refill without removing it from the gun and it was quite large. But baring that one fault it is only an solid water gun to play soldiers with. Like all the other Super Soakers, it seemed to survive many drops and seemed durable enough. I wouldn't say this is a terrible water gun, but I would definitely recommend buying a different one.

I don't know why the other reviewers are so freaked out that this isn't a pressurized water gun. It's clearly a pump action model!

Anyway, that said, this is one of my favorite basic models. Simple reliable pump firing, good range, and a large-capacity clip (more than even the "banana" style clips) is included, with a large filling hole. It's just solid all around. Need more ammo, get the 40 oz drum or the 20 oz banana clips!

Note that it does include a Nerf rail if you're into that sort of thing (no comment), and a rather nice default point-n-shoot aiming mechanism with crosshair which is unusual on super soakers.

We bought 2 different water guns, and the water packs (like a small backpack) for Father's Day and it was a huge hit. Both father and son got soaked, and had big smiles after their backyard battle. In this climate, where tempatures over 100 degrees are guaranteed in the Summer, we need lots of options to keep cool, but still be outdoors. This gun has the option of filling the attached reservoir with ice, which works well, although your ice cubes need to be pretty small to fit. I recommend crushed ice if you can get it.

We were very glad to have the backpacks for extra water, and I recommend them with any water gun you buy, otherwise you will quickly run out of "ammo".
