As far as I'm concerned, there was never a deviation so there could never be a return to form for Anselmo. He is what he is and he delivers the goods yet again. This look inside at what might be on his first solo effort is just stunning. The brutality of Family, Friends and Associates is almost addictive and if Phil doesn't chill you to the bone when he shouts, "I'm calling you OUT!" then nothing will get to you. Conflict is also another winner and just crushes. In all the years I've been listening to him do his thing, he never misses. This is no exception. Can't overlook Warbeast, who also deliver on the promise of great thrash, and why would they not - they come from legendary thrash roots.

For metal fans, there's nothing that beats purity and this EP just delivers it clean, like a straight punch to the teeth. This is a great record in the spirit of those great metal splits from back in the day and a must have for any true metal fan.

School is back in, suckers. Lessons in how it's done are being given daily by these two bands.

I was a bit disappointed with this album. I bought it because its Phil Anselmo's first work as a solo artist...even though he is backed by the Illegals. Phil's portion of the Split is good but not great. It is better than anything on his full length (walk through exits only) in my opinion. Warbeast on the other hand put two of their worst songs on this EP. For a true taste of Warbeast check out their album Destroy. Purchase this only if you want Phil or Warbeast's complete works.

I hate this cd!! It sounded like a bunch of unproduced noise. I bought this thinking it was a return to original Pantera form!!!!!!! I was wrong!!! This was thrown together and sounds more like Super Joint Ritual!!! Do not buy this if you are a Pantera fan!!! Get on youtube and sample some tracks first. This is the same stuff he keepsdoing with Housecore Records.
