I've been ordering and trying every hook I can find and this one is without a doubt the best one I've found so far. I have a serious hand injury that makes gripping difficult, and this hook is wonderful. It is helping tremendously with pain so that I can knit for a much longer time period. I would highly recommend this hook.

One thing to note is that this hook is slightly bigger than some of the others and a bit more difficult to use if you have the KB Sock Loom.

Wow... what a difference this tool made in my speed and comfort in knitting on my long loom. I like the hook that came with the knitting board, but this hook with the bigger handle, it blows the other one out of the water. May I make a suggestion to the seller of the knittingboard.com people, offer the people a choice of the two hooks when you sell the knitting boards. I think you could charge just a little extra for the better hook. You would have a lot more satified customers. I would have chosen this larger hook given I have tendenitis in my hand. Thanks for the great hook. I really can enjoy my knitting much better now! :-)

Since I got this one I have put the other ones away in a drawer not only is it stronger and doesn't bend like some of the cheaper ones but it's easier on your hands

I have just about every loom hook on the market. Non can beat the tip or the grip on this tool.

That sharp point makes it fail proof when you're ready to scoop up your yarn. I love my Knifty Knitters but if your not careful the hook ends up tangled in the middle of your 4-ply yarn. This iron hook is strong and you feel like you just glide effortlessly through your project.

The handle fits perfectly in the palm of you hand. It's made of the right grade of rubber for a hook. Not too hard and not too gummy. Unless you've tried other hooks this is hard to explain. It's sturdy without being harsh.

So well worth every penny.
Hope that helps....denise

This is the best hook on the market! My first two looms came with a flimsy hook that broke after using it for just a few weeks! The metal in the middle was super thin and I could even pull the metal out of the hook! Not with this! This is super bulky but it makes it more comfortable to handle the hook and use it on my loom. I would buy this over and over and over again!

I had tried several brands and styles of hooks before I found this one. Easy to hold. No hand or wrist strain. And very durable.

I recently got "into" loom knitting, purchasing a set of round looms complete with a knit hook. A few projects in, I wondered how people did it -- held the hook for such long periods of time -- without their hands cramping up into strange claw-like shapes. Some quick searching on the internet revealed that other people -- especially older loom knitters and younger ones with arthritis (myself being in the latter category) -- did in fact face this issue, and had developed ways to deal with it, such as using silicone grips on the end of standard hooks, molding polymer clay around the base of them, or buying what they call "ergonomic hooks", which had wider, longer handles, usually with a dip in the middle for finger placement.

After discovering the existence of these hooks -- the ergonomic ones, I mean; I love playing with clay but didn't want to go through all that work just for one hook -- I of course came here to Amazon to find one. Among other options, I came upon this Authentic Knitting Board hook. It had (and has) many great reviews and looked to be just what I needed. Turns out, it is!

The grip is wider than I'd anticipated, and took a few minutes to get used to the drastic difference between the chunky handle and the spaghetti-thin actual hook. After my hands adjusted, though, I fell in love with the thing. Loom-knitting is much easier now, and much (much) faster! The wider handle allows me to put more weight behind it if I need to get a particularly tight stitch off a peg, and the tip of the hook itself is pointier (I wish I could find a better word, but "pointier" it is) and slips beneath stitches easier and with less risk of splitting the yarn.

I'm extremely new to knitting, so decided to try learning while I'm laid up from a spinal fusion surgery in January, then gall bladder surgery in March. Knitting with needles is much harder than I thought it would be, so I decided to try first a sock loom at first. I bought this hook, and am very glad I did, as it is much more comfortable to use than the smaller, plain one that came with my loom. It feels much more substantial, is well-made, and great to handle so far.
