I have owned several different types of hourly timers to operate evening lights within our curio cabinet. So far, this is the only unit that keeps time and turns on/turns off without failure. My only criticism -- the unit is larger than the regular timers and consumes the entire plug preventing you from having two items plugged into the same plug. However, that is a reasonable trade-off for dependability. I would recommend this product to my friends, family, and Amazon shoppers.

well made timers - better than I expected, and price is right. easy to use manual configuration (flip tiny tabs up or down) so much faster than the new digital ones which you need a PhD to program); don't require any external power source. bonus is that it's grounded so you can use with 3 pronged devices.

It took me a bit to really figure out how this works but now that I have, it's great. I wanted it for my dehumidifier as it was running 24/7 and driving my electric bill sky high. Now I set this to come on a couple times a day for a couple hours at a time and it's perfect. The little tabs are easy to set. There are no little pins to use for on-off times. Simply lower the tabs between the hours you want your device to operate. Can go on-off as many times in a 24-hour period as you want, in 15-minute increments. Just be sure you put the switch on the side in the proper position. That was my issue - I had it in the wrong position so it wasn't working at first. Once I figured that out, it's been fine since. definitely recommend if you need a 3-prong timer.

I use this with my slow cooker when I go to work. I just program it to turn on from 8am until 4pm and when I get home I have a perfectly cooked meal. Easy to program, just push down the little tabs for however long you want the electric to be on. Only thing that was wrong with it was the printing of the "am / pm, dark / light" distinction, but thats only cosmetic and didn't affect the mechanics of the product.
