I use both the Kupo 40-Inch and 20-inch Hex Grip Arm on Kupo C stands. Build is combat zone ready and the big beefy T-handle on the grip head makes for easy setup and teardown. No problems tightening the grip head as it merely requires modest torque to hold securely.

The steel arm and aluminum grip head have serious heft, so it would be dangerous to use on anything but a heavy duty stand with sandbag to counterbalance the weight. And, yes, the baby hex pin on the end of the arm really does lock tight and prevent a heavy video light from rotating.

My only niggle is the grip head is permanently attached to one end of the arm with a pin. I’d rather have the flexibility of sliding the grip head for optimal placement but oh well.

I'm pleased with the quality and performance of both the 40 and 20-inch Kupo Hex Grip Arms: strong and holds large video lights and modifiers like a champ. Both arms are essential tools but I use the 20-inch arm more often since my studio is so cramped.

Not recommended. Initially impressed with design - nice beefy grip, hex-topper is great for mounting lights and lots of teeth in the grip to bite. But my Matthews and Avenger grips require less torque to stay put (this one you *really* have to crank down and even then it does not inspire confidence to stay in place). Even worse: the metal teeth are rubbing off! Will return for refund.

I was really excited when I opened the box and realized the item was silver and not black. This is a brilliant addition to the grip market and my inventory. The Hex end is an indispensable innovation that will make the flow of my productions easier.
