I bought this thinking it was a genuine HP toner cartridge because the picture shows an HP toner cartridge box, which is deceiving. As it turned out its not a genuine HP product, but only a "compatible" HP toner. I never buy compatible toner products. I have not used the product yet, but I can only hope it will not mess up my printer as some compatible toners do. I will not buy from this vendor again.

The Databazaar toner is NOT real HP toner but is remanufactured, be careful because there is no deal to be had buying from them. It should be removed from this page to avoid confusion.

I am not trying to save money by getting cheap 3rd part cartridges, I paid in full HP retail price(same as newegg), and I have refunded it, glad that it is fullfilled by Amazon, so the return was simple.

I thought I was buying an original HP OEM cartridge as per the picture. I received a third party (MSE brand) cartridge instead from Qualtiy Printers. After pulling the tape and inserting the toner cartridge I received a printer error saying the tape needed to be removed. After a few tries, I could not get the printer to work with this toner as it kept saying that the tape needed to be removed although it already had been removed. Advertising the cartridge as an "HP 42A Original" is deceptive. Unfortunately I have to return it.

These toners were a complete waste. Could barely read anything on the prints because it was just smeared with toner. Both of the toners were bad, and I was able to get a refund for 1 of them at least. The genuine HP cartridge works fine in the machine so I know it's the cartridge causing the issues, plus I tried them in 2 separate HP printers. I have never had problems with generic toner before but I highly recommend that you DO NOT BUY these ones.

We have tried numerous variations of the non-OEM toner for this particular printer model from a number of different vendors and everyone has failed miserably. As one of the other reviewers noted, printing is very light and every cartridge has had a problem with leakage of toner into the machines. For other printer models we have been very successful and pleased with the less-expensive off-brands, but for this particular printer, stick with the OEM toner.

From WholeSale 321, I ordered the high capacity genuine HP toner Q5942X, which has always worked best in my HP printer. What's advertised is labeled as being "by HP" which gives the appearance of being genuine and has the correct product number, Q5942X. I received what appears to be either a fake HP product or a capabitible, Q5942XC, which prices at $88 less through other vendors. Not happy. Amazon is allowing me to return the toner, but they are very unhelpful in identifying which other vendors sell genuine cartridges!! I'll turn to reliable vendors like Staples or J&R. Sorry Wholesale 321, your high rating is not deserved. Amazon, you should be ashamed of yourselves for allowing this chicanery to persist. Very discouraging for a Prime customer.

This super capacity goes into the work horse class printers. With one of these, cases of paper later and it is still running strong. No problems with installation or operation. Have been getting a lot more usage from regular cartridges than expected. This one should be good for many more years of quality operation.
