I love this gloss!

Burt's Bees products have been a hit or miss for me in the past, but this is a definite win! The color is gorgeous (a little darker than what appears in the photo) and works wonderfully on its own, or mixed with another color (I often use this one in conjunction with darker or starker lip colors to neutralize, since my lips are a few shades darker than this gloss.)

I have chronically dry or flaky lips, but this product solves that problem better than many of the chapsticks and balms that I've tried (and this includes some of Burt's Bees lip balms.)

The product is definitely a decent size, and lasts a long time. I'd recommend this to anyone, especially if you're looking for something that can double as a gloss and balm.

Normally I do a nude lip so this shade is perfect for my fair coloring. I have pale mauve lips and this appears almost like a clear gloss. I love that it has a doe foot applicator as opposed to a messy brush applicator that always ends up splaying. This is thicker than other glosses I use and that's a good thing as my other glosses tend to leak out around the threads of the container and that can get messy. The only thing I don't like about the Burt's Bees is the pearlized glitter is too chunky, it needs to be more finely crushed.

Though I have been a fan of eye makeup for many years, I have never been that interested in lip products as my lips are very thin and without much shape. I am becoming more interested lately, so I was pleased to get the opportunity to review this Burt's Bees lip gloss.

In customer images at the top of the product page, I have included a picture of me wearing JUST the gloss and a picture of me wearing the gloss over a fuschia lipstick so you can get a better idea of the color and shine in both uses.

The promises made for this product (taken from the Amazon product page) are:

Delivers rich pearlized color with high impact shine.

There is hardly any color to this particular shade as it is a neutral, so I can't speak to that, but it definitely does deliver pearlized shine.

Enriches with nourishing oils.

I don't see this at all. I suppose if you started with dry lips, this might help. I use a lip balm daily, and I noticed no increase in "nourishing oils" by using this gloss. In fact, I found my lips were dryer after using this gloss than if I had just stuck with my usual Blistex balm.

Promotes healthy looking and beautiful lips

My lips were already healthy looking so I can't say whether it would transform unhealthy lips to healthy looking lips. I have seen NO difference in my lips since I began using this gloss; and in fact, as noted above, have noticed more dryness after using this than when I'm not using it.

I'll have to take their word on that. I tried to search them out but there are so many Burt's Bee's lip products on Amazon that I was not easily able to segregate just the colors that belonged in this particular line of glosses.Read more ›

I got this lip gloss as I really like the brand as a whole. I especially like the baby products and travel kits.

I was sick of lip gloss tasting awful, not staying on for a decent period of time, and the heavy, sticky gooey ones that are high priced dept store products that don't last.

I was a bit skeptical, but as I mentioned, I have really liked the quality of many of the other Burt's Bees products I have bought and decided to give it a try.

I am so happy to say that for me, it was exactly what I needed. And it really seemed to help my chapped lips that happen every winter!

I haven't checked out any of the other colors yet and tried this one color, as it was available to me through the Amazon Vine Program, in that I am able to choose a couple of items ranging from food to books per month, and this item was free to me as well.

This in NO WAY affects my review of any product; I just tell it like it is, and what my experience with the product has been, to try to help all of us on tighter budgets to not waste money on junk. I can't even begin to tell you how much other Amazon customers have helped ME make a decision on an item, good or bad, and I really feel that there is a lot of integrity in the reviews by an Amazon customer. I buy tons of other products that are NOT free, and I don't think I've ever had a problem with an item I bought based on several customer reviews. AND..it is really important to read these in my opinion, as I had a problem with an item I did not read about, thinking it was a no brainer, and I really wish I had read the reviews as there was an issue and it was mentioned in some customer reviews!Read more ›

I'm not a big fan of the Burt's Bees lip balm, so I didn't have high hopes for the gloss. But, wow, I love it!

The color, Spring Splendor, looks dark pink and very sparkly in the tube. I was a little surprised that it was hardly noticeable once I applied it. Not a bad thing, just unexptected. It adds a nice shine to my lips.

Only a little bit comes out on the applicator, so I get a swipe for one lip and then have to dip it before moving on to the next. My other glosses usually pull a little more product, but I still double dip, so this isn't really any different for me.

Let's talk texture. This gloss is on the thick side. Not sticky-glues-my-lips-together thick, but thick enough that I can feel it. I don't find this objectionable because I tend to slather on all kinds of ointments and potions when my lips get dry, but if you don't like the feel of a thick gloss on your lips you might not like it.

Burt's Bees Lip Gloss smells a tiny bit waxy and has a hint of sweet flavor. Neither are strong enough to bother me and I don't find the scent or flavor objectionable.

The next time I need a gloss, I'd certainly grab a Burt's Bees Lip Gloss.
