I am always on the lookout for a good, leak proof water bottle I can throw in my bag that will not leak. I have been using a thermos bottle I found here on amazon that works well, and then I saw this one and thought I would try it. Well, this is my new favorite water bottle. the top is sealed and secure and you have to push a button to open the mouthpiece to drink. It is easy to drink from, I found it much easier to drink from than your typical water bottle with the little spout. Since I started using this bottle instead of my old Thermos brand bottle, I am drinking much more water because it is so easy to use. I also throw this in my bag and in the car and it rolls around and has not leaked yet! I am ordering more of these.

When I first got this, the ONLY thing I did not like was how it felt on my mouth and how some water would drip out after I take a sip.

The feeling on your mouth you will just have to get used to as there is no "spout" that protrudes for you to wrap your lips around.

What you want to do is when you take a sip, and you're done, take your finger off the button so the valve closes BEFORE you bring the bottle back down. This way, the residual water that may be leftover on top of the valve opening will be in your mouth instead.

I really enjoyed using this water bottle over the last 6 months, but one morning I went to pick-up the bottle by the lid eyelet and the lid came apart at the seam. I contacted the company to request replacement under warranty, and they claimed that the lid separation was not covered under their warranty. They claimed their testing showed that this only happens "after being subjected to stress." I'm sure that the bottle has fallen over more than a few times over the months, but at no time was this bottle subjected to anything more severe than a 3 foot drop. They pointed me to their internal site and said I could purchase a replacement lid at a slight discount, which, after shipping and handling is included, works out to be the same price as a new bottle from Amazon.

Interestingly, if you read the reviews for the lid posted on their internal site, many individuals report the same lid separation problem, so I would argue that this a design flaw with the product. I believe most individuals purchase a plastic, auto sealing water bottle with an assumption around moderate durability (i.e. it should handle the occasional 3 foot drop and last longer than 6 months). If durability is an important concern, then I would caution against this purchase.

To be clear, I will have to update my review once I've really used this waterbottle. There was something to share right off the bat. I'm not sure how far the mouth of the bottle is supposed to open, but the two that I ordered ("citron" and "cobalt", this one) open to different distances. They're from the same seller, and are the same size and style... As you may see in the pictures, you can still see the green "stopper" and you can't see the blue/"cobalt" stopper because it's retracted all the way. I squeezed equally as hard on both, trying to make them both retract fully and the green one only does somewhat.

Another important note: This really looks like it should ONLY be used for WATER!!! The underside of the lid has the (bare and open) mechanism that allows the "stopper" to open once the button is pushed. If this gets sticky from pop or anything else, I can see that this would be a problem.

Edit: January 2, 2015 - Just thought I'd pop in to say that the bottle is still at 100%. I have purchased two more based on this.

It was a blustery night, the kind of night where things go wrong in the right kind of way and the UPS guy drops off your Amazon without a hint of the Smile that's on the box. I was sitting at my desk, the same cheap thing with the wood veneer, covered in coffee rings, beaten like an over-loved rug.

She walked in. Grace. The kind of bottle that makes a man reach for his wallet before he can think. I could see something in her face... a single drop running down her mouth spout. A leak, or a drip from a recent drink? Smoke, her complexion fooled me into thinking I could see right through her.

"Turn right around, hydration-face. I've seen your kind around here before and you only do me wrong."

"You have it all wrong, Inspector Thirst." She spoke with a strong confidence that echoed the bold fill lines on her side. 24 ounces, indeed. "I'm here to help you."

I stood up, sending a flutter of legal pads to the floor, letting my anger get to my face. This was unprofessional and I knew better, but I felt my face get blotchy I stepped up to meet her claim. "No, you have it wrong, bottle! I've been down this road so many times! I was with Takeya, glass and silicone that looked so supple and perfect, then I open her up and it smells like an old shoe! I bought into Bubba but I dropped her and she smashed like a glass pane! I can't tell you how many times I've been down the Camelbak road, and just when I think I'm safe the drips start! Don't even get me started on Nalgene, if I wanted to deal with a big cumbersome cap I'd wear my stovepipe hat everywhere! I can't do this again!Read more ›
