The Illuminator works just fine, but the wording in the ad is a bit misleading. It states that the illuminator can be powered by an adapter the works with your exsisting camera. The problem is, the illuminator does not come with the mentioned adapter. The adapter is also mentioned in the instruction booklet that comes with the illuminator, but it is not included.

I don't understand why they didn't include one, as it's not an expense item. I called R-Tech and was told that they might be able to do something for me, but after a week of waitng and no reply, I went ahead and purchased the adapter online for about $2.00.

great light, works as described

i painted it black with dark gray as a second cover since it is for a security camera night vision and the white paint was very noticeable. the screws that it came with were made of a lighter material so i used some aftermarket screws to mount the light. looks great, works great.

Well Built; Good Base; Lots of Light

Have only installed one of these so far, but decided to use the more expensive product because of construction. I am not disappointed. It puts out a lot of "night vision" light, enabling my IR security cameras to basically provide images of near-daylight quality. Of course, it's all still black and white, but very good black and white. I will install three more of these today and two more at the end of the week, one for each of the cams I use.
