Our daughter loves Lego Friends. She first saw them at a friends house and was instantly obsessed with them. We purchased a set for Christmas and it was a big hit. I got this for her as a special birthday gift from Daddy.

The LEGO Friends Karate Class Play Set comes with 93 pieces. It includes the Emma character and a lots of cool martial arts accessories. It comes with a Samurai Sword, a Kendo Helmet and a Chopping Block. It also has a trophy case, a bonsai tree and a Japaneses Style Screen. The instructions are very detailed and easy to follow for a 5 year old. The recommended age is 5-12 and a 5 year old will only need minimal help with it.

One point of caution. I have found that the average per piece price of the LEGO Friends sets are around 10-12 cents per piece for the smaller sets. That is the going rate from WalMart/Target or when Amazon is the seller. Some secondary Amazon retailers sell the Friends sets for much more. I purchased this set for just under $10. Make sure to shop around.

Long story short, this is a great addition to your LEGO Friends collection. Highly Recommended!

This was simple enough and challenging enough to put together. It is nice to have a Lego Friends set based on a sport (that my daughter was doing when St Nick left it in her stocking). Unfortunately since most karate studios decorate in an Asian theme featuring lots of red this pink and purple set doesn't quite hit the mark.

Big Lego lover family - this one was a big small and insignificant compared to what was expected. It's obviously not a huge Lego but not as good as what you would get fit the same price/number of blocks from an item in the City collection.

I bought this for my son's best friend who is in their tae kwon do class - she loved it. There aren't a lot of pieces to it, but there's no other set like it. She made it and it sits displayed on her dresser with her belts. I hope LEGO makes more martial-arts themed sets.

My daughters like the Friend's Legos. Most of the criticism I see is that they are too stereotypical, but I disagree. Yes, girls do relate to bakeries, salons, pets, etc. My daughters enjoy all Legos, but like the Friends stuff the best. I also see Legos, in general, as some of the most well made and timeless of toys (I have 6 kids and have been through most kinds of toys). Legos passes the test of time.

My 8 year old wasn't very impressed with this kit. It was smaller than we hoped and it did not appeal to her as I had hoped. I would recommend it probably for the 5-6 age group more so than the older age group.

Very popular with our 8-yr-old granddaughter and her younger sisters. Very glad to see Lego branch out into creative interests of young ladies too. Attractive sets with fun themes. These are all our granddaughter wants for Christmas.
