Good Value for Great Battery

I bought 4 for less than $10 each, no shipping. You can buy a higher capacity battery, but it will cost you several dollars more. Nitecore is one of the brands that give accurate, even conservative, mAh ratings. Don't believe Ultrafire's mAh claims. I have some Ultrafire batteries that are labeled 3000 mAh, 4200, 5600, and 6800!!! None deliver close to what they claim. The actual maximum capacity for any 18650 is 3400 mAh.

These batteries are protected, meaning they have a small, round circuit board on the end of the battery. That makes them longer than non-protected batteries. An 18650 cell is 18 mm in diameter and 65 mm long. These batteries, like all protected 18650s, are about 4 or 5 mm longer than a non protected battery. Ultrafire claims to be protected, but I recently dissected one that died suddenly (read 0V), and there was no protection circuit at all. That is why they are 65 mm long (plus wrapper thickness). These batteries do fit in all my Cree flashlights that use 18650, although it is tighter than I would like (due to longer length, diameter is fine). Although I can screw the flashlights completely closed, I usually back off 1/2 turn or more. Then it is not so tight and works just fine. I feel better using the protected batteries, as Li-ions can be quite hazardous. I am using a Nitecore IntelliCharger which works very well.

UPDATE, 2 years later- A few months ago I bought a Foxnovo charger that will also test battery capacity. All my Nitecore batteries still test to their stated capacity, give or take a few percent. So do my Tenergy, AW, EagleTac, Olight, and Panasonic, which I salvaged from discarded battery packs(made in Japan. No protection circuit. Must be very careful not to over-discharge. Finally An 18650 Battery That Is Actually As Advertised.

Buying Lithium Ion Batteries in the 18650 form factor has become a real chore on the internet these days. So many choices, and many are actually repurposed from old laptop battery packs and sold as new. Many are sold at a XYZ mAh ratings that are flat out untrue. In addition, you have the challenge of "protected" vs "unprotected" to deal with.

This particular battery from Nitecore IS as advertised. It has the rated mAh capacity stated, has an excellent protection circuit element in it, and will fit most 18650 applications. I use these in LED Flashlights and they are both reliable and long lasting from a full charge.

In my opinion, pay a little more for this battery and get what you actually paid for.

Better then your average 18650

This battery is a bit longer then your standard 18650 battery so it may not fit in some devices.I use it in a mechanical e-cig with low ohm coils and it hits hard.

Quality batteries

These batteries are great. They came with plenty of charge and we put them in our new 300 lumens flashlights. The light they give off is super bright. They are easy to charge in the Nitecore charger. We look forward to many charges to come. Seem very well made and of high quality. These batteries are larger than the standard AA battery so be sure whatever you are buying them for will house these properly.

Do not purchase

I purchased this battery for a new flashlight I purchased also from Niteore, according to the battery indicater the battery they sent me is 50% power. Not happy and will not purchase from Nitecore again.

Nitecore what more can you say! its a great product and a great battery it just keeps going on and on and on. I charged it up and use my flashlight everyday. Its a Nitecore SRT7 and have not had to recharge it as of yet. like I say it keeps going and going. Good product for a GREAT price, you just cant go wrong

This is the real deal - holds a much better charge than the UltraFire batteries I also bought through here. It's pricey, but if you're running a high power flashlight (like most users of this battery are) this is worth the investment.
