What's in the box.

Headset
Detachable boom microphone.
Detachable cord with Microphone mute and volume toggles.
Cord with 3.5 and 2.5mm jacks for using with Xbox 360.
Additional cord with RCA left and Right audio jacks for using with PS3 and Xbox 360.

How I tested the device.
I tested this headset on my iPhone 5, a Windows XP, and Windows 7 PC and an Xbox 360.

Connecting to an Xbox 360.
If you're like me and you use an HDMI cable for your Xbox for video and audio output, you will need an additional adapter which gives you both a digital and analog audio connection. These adapters cost around $20 and connect to the older Xbox's as well as Xbox slim. You then plug the 3.5 / 2.5 mm jack into your Xbox controller with the smaller connector, and the side of the volume toggle control with the larger connector. Plug the USB jack at the end of the cable into your Xbox, and the Left Right (Red White) RCA jacks into your adapter.

Connecting to a PC.
Connecting the unit to a PC is far simpler. On a Windows 7 PC you connect Just the USB connection to the computer. The PC immediately detected the device, and I now had a new device in the Audio Devices control panel. I then just change the USB device to be the default playback and recording device. Using the device on a Windows XP computer is another story. Windows XP will not recognize the USB device and there are no drivers available for it. Instead you're stuck using just the 3.5 mm jack for left / right listening only, with no microphone capabilities. A definite negative for anyone using this on a Windows XP machine.

Connecting to an iPhone
To use this on an iPhone you wont use the second portion of the cable that has the volume toggle and USB cable.Read more ›
