Don't buy this bag for a school bag. Its not made for that much stuff. Great for bringing stuff to the stadium with you or for a sleepover. He still uses it for lighter things but not for middle school, i think it would be fine for elementery school.

My 5th grade son is so excited to use this backpack this year. I wasn't sure if it would be big enough to hold his school supplies and binders but I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived! There is definitely enough room for him to carry everything that he needs. Other reviews stated that there was no phone holder on the strap (my son doesn't have a phone yet so I wasn't concerned about this) however, the backpack that we received does have the phone holder.

I like the bag in terms of design and usability. However, it leaves a lot to be desired in terms of workmanship. The material seems durable, but the single stitching is a problem, not to mention inconsistent single stitching. i found a little gap between the front pocket and the main body which at first glance was a hole for headphone cord. However, on closer inspection, seeing thqt the atitching continued in the back but missed the front, it is a mis-stitch. A break in the line, if left unchecked, will simply rip the front compartment completely out.

It conveys the simple message: this is a shoddily made bag. One stitch breaks, It's game over.

My son loves the Braves so we chose to order online rather than buy a local backpack as Atlanta Braves are never in our local Indiana stores. While it looks great the strap is terrible. All of the weight inside is then supported with a velcro strap. The bags at our local stores all had velcro with an extra latch for added strength. We had a few notesbooks and folders and it kept popping open. I would not have bought if I read a review like this, but since he loves the team I am going to have to pay someone to add a secure strap which will cost more than the bag I am sure. They need to redesign.
