This has been a perfect sleeping place for my cat. My cat is an outside cat and comes into the garage to eat and sleep. This keeps him warm. He loves to go into it to sleep on cold nights(I live in Georgia). I put the igloo in a box and added more padding so he would be off the concrete. I haven't washed it, but I don't think it will be a problem. The material is great because it does show where he has clawed at the igloo. Strongly recommend for a cat, but think small dogs would love it also.

In the picture it would appear that it sits up nicely. However in reality it came all squished and isn't sturdy enough on the sides/top to support itself. My puppy has spent the last week on top of it rather than inside it.
