I made the mistake of buying a "universal" antenna from a local auto parts store a few weeks back when my original antenna disintegrated off of my vehicle as I was traveling out of town. I put my trust in the employee there, who as it turned out had little knowledge of antennas... by little I mean none. It was a complete waste of time and money. So I was very careful when I researched a replacement that would actually fit and work on my car. I came across this one and the reviews were decent, price was reasonable, so I took the chance. I have a 2005 Mazda 6 and this screwed in perfectly and it works! As far as the quality of the reception, to me it sounds great. Little to no static and I get all the local stations in clearly. It's a good purchase in my opinion.

The mount doesn't match the antenna base well on a 2003 Prius (it screws on, but the flare is much wider than the base). It also has lower gain than the original, so a station that came in clear at my semi-rural house is now crackly and pretty much unlistenable.

UPDATE: sellers adjusted the cost somewhat once they saw this feedback, so I added one more star. They refunded half the price of the antenna and shipping. I know it would have cost them or me that much to ship it back...I lost $5 on the deal, but the antenna will work somewhat until the new one arrives in a week or so. Still cheaper than buying all those songs from the Apple store. Check your antenna base before buying--there's a flare at the antenna base about the size of a quarter, or a little wider. If you're in the city, close to broadcast towers, the gain will probably be okay.

I installed this on a 2006 Mazda 6. Fits perfect and looks like it belongs. I bought another brand less than a year ago and it did not hold up the the weather outside. This seems to be made better. Much more sturdy than previous model. The stock antenna for Mazda 6 is 16" and this one is about half the size. I will update in about a week to talk about he reception. So far it is a must buy.

I bought this as a replacement antenna for my Mazda 5. It no where near the quality as the factory antenna but for the price it works. The main antenna is wrapped in some type of fabric, seems durable by only time will tell.

I was bummed out when the antenna on my Mazda broke off. I asked the dealership how much it would be for a new one, and couldn't believe it when they told me it would be $60. I am very happy that I found this product. It is a fraction of the price, and performs just as well as my stock antenna. I have had this on my car for about a year now and not had any problems to this day!

My biggest concern was the diameter of the threading on the antenna. Upon receipt and attachment of it, I was delighted to find it fit perfectly. Radio in my car now picks up many more stations than before, and it was not necessary for me to purchase a more expensive antenna to solve my limited car radio receptionn. This part was around the $6 range, so very cheap. Shipped from China, but arrived VERY quickly actually (approx. 1 week). VERY easy to install on my 99 Jetta, just unscrewed the old broken antennae, and screwed this one right on. I debated over the 9" vs 16", and chose wrong. The 9" works "ok", it helps me get some radio stations, but cuts out on a lot of them. I am guessing the antennae isn't long enough? I notice when I go down into 'valleys' it has a hard time getting reception. I was afraid the 16" would look tacky/stupid, but I definitely recommend it. Excellent seller, but the product itself was average.
