Unfortunately this item is a mixed bag. I first ordered from KKKkkk who sent an item that looked like a Lenovo battery - the sticker was correct except the manufacture date was missing from the serial number label on the battery. The box on the outside ironically said 60Wh despite the battery should have had a charge of 94Wh per manufacturer spec. On inserting, the battery showed a 9% wear level and maximum capacity of 78Wh. After one charge cycle it showed a maximum capacity of 72Wh. This is not what a battery should do. Capacity should be above 94Wh when new and be stable. The plastic showed imperfections in the surface that implies a cheaper (i.e. non-Lenovo) manufacturing process. So it's a fake.

I returned that and reordered from LPCInc. Their unit actually had a lenovo security seal. Paperwork in the box was Lenovo printing and the capacity is 100Wh with 0% wear. The quality of the plastic is identical to the real unit I removed so I have a much warmer feeling this is genuine.

So buyers beware of the seller. Buying again I'd only purchase from a seller saying it has all the seals and is genuine and then when you get it, if the box doesn't have Lenovo stickers and seals then it's likely fake. Also then use a tool like BatteryInfoView to check the capacity over the first couple of cycles.

I've got 55++ battery instead of 70++ as description says. This is basically the same thing, except the fact that Lenovo started to put an authentication chip into 70-series batteries and all ThinkPads made after 2012 will expect for it. Without the chip the battery will not be recognized as genuine and will not get charged.
Probably it will work with older ThinkPads, but my T530 made at 2012 just refuses to charge the battery.

I purchased this battery on 18 October, it failed today on 29 November. When it was working it worked very well and allowed me to have around 9 hours of runtime on my Lenovo T520. Now all I have is a paperweight, I would not buy this again.

**Update 20141220:

Since this battery died on me after the "30 day warranty" I decided to call Lenovo to see if they would replace the battery under the 1 year manufacturer's warranty. I assumed since the battery was "new in box" and had the genuine (unbroken) Lenovo seal that it would be covered by Lenovo. Long story short, Lenovo told me that they would not warranty the battery unless it was purchased from them; they claimed (understandably so) that they couldn't tell if it was a new genuine battery or not. None of this sat too well with me and I felt like I had been ripped off, so I contacted Amazon to see if they would be able to help me out. Amazon was awesome with the entire ordeal and I had a return shipping label in my inbox in a matter of minutes. I was hit with a restocking fee but was able to recoup the majority of the money I spent on the battery. I have since purchased a new battery directly from Lenovo (for quite a premium) but at least I know Lenovo will warranty the battery for 1 year.

In real life use, this battery can easily last six hours for net surfing, email/word/data processing, video/music playing combined on my T-430 with display set at the brightest level. It is not much bigger than a 6-cell and actually gives it a better grip as it sticks out like a little handle on the back. I pack one on my laptop and a spare for backup which are more than enough for a heavy workday.

I purchased the battery, assuming it is brand new since the item description does not mention it is used. Once I started using it, it can only do around 60Wh (2 hours usage at around 30 Watts), which is obviously much lower than the rated capacity (94Wh). This indicates the battery has been used before. My old (3 years old) battery can do almost that long.

This seems to be a deliberate misleading description by the seller.

Does not charge on T430, these are old battery models that are not recognized as original batteries by the newer laptops, they do not have a chip, which is used since 2012 by Lenovo to authenticate batteries so the laptop will not charge it. The battery is useless that way. Marked as 55++ not 70++ and with date 2010.06. Product should not be advertised as T430 compatible!

There isn't a whole heck of a lot to say about this, so this review is going to be quite brief - sorry!

Basically, this is an OEM Lenovo battery that I bought to replace the aging one in my 3 year old Lenovo W530. The part number is different from the original one, but works just fine. In fact, it seems to have a few more Watt-hours than the original started with (all such batteries lose their charge holding capacity in time).

The W530 is a high-end Lenovo workstation laptop and chews through bterry capacity quickly, so having one that held more charge (old battery had aged as expected) to go longer without a problem is important to me. BTW, I discovered that the W530 Lenovo laptop comes with a 170W power brick that *cannot* be used on planes with their dinky, underpowered 110 Volt seat plugs (argh!), so having it last for more than a few hours is somewhat vital for working while on planes.

So far, so good on this replacement battery!
