The exquisite attention to detail, taste, and the skill of the dancers make the Crazy Horse the most famous dance hall in the world. I loved the music, especially, and the lighting. This documentary shows how this business goes about elevating the genre to an Art.

Frederick Wiseman has created another fly on the wall documentary. He directs/films movies about institutions and seeing how they function. His first, Titicut Follies, followed how life in a mental institution worked. Over 5 decades of as filmmaker, he followed other institutions such as High Schools, Hospital, and Paris Opera Ballet (LE BALLET DE L'OPERA DE PARIS). This film follows the Crazy Horse in Paris as it struggles to stay relevant. The hard work of the producers and dancers is evident through out, while their work is shown as interludes.

It had a Lot of the acts that the live show in Las Vegas has & my wife & I truly enjoyed it but would of enjoyed it more without all the backstage drama.

I found myself fast-forwarding through this to see if it got better. It shows what goes into the planning of a new show at the Crazy Horse...but the lighting or film type or something makes this film look like 70s porn. The dancing is reminiscent of something in Vegas with showgirls. I rented this thinking it might talk about the differences between this place and the US. Maybe go into the personalities of the dancers. I was curious about the differences. However, this movie was weird and strange...and I can't help but wonder if these girls get paid anything. They don't appear to walk out in the audience for tips, so I can only guess.

Anyways, I do not recommend this movie to anyone. It's artsy and has music that is out of Edward Scissorhands...seriously. Just weird. And the shadow puppets at the beginning and the end...what was that all about? Just weird. Shadow puppets making out to Edward Scissorhands theme. O-----k then.
