I would give it all five, but, perhaps unavoidably, it increased the magnification factor of my low-power (10x - 20x) stereo microscope to about 50x minimum, which is more than I want for the application. No fault of the camera - just the way it is, I know, but it was a bit disappointing that what you see (by eye, through one eyepiece) is not what you get (by camera, through the other), and it might help future buyers to understand that if it is replacing a 10x eyepiece, magnification will be increased - which MAY be desirable. It just wasn't in my case.

Otherwise really good little piece of equipment. I built my own lens setup for parts inspection using a shortened barrel from a cheap 9-LED flashlight, which this fits inside of just about perfectly. I still need to play with longer focal length primaries, but I had a lens that also fit the flashlight (replacing the LED assy), and it works quite nicely - still just a tad too much magnification.

This is a great camera for the price. It connects to the usb port on the computer and can be found as a webcam. This allows it to be used in muitl-camera production software such as Ustream producer 5 Studio. Other more expensive usb cameras will not do this. The software is very extensive in useful features. I highly recommend this camera for photo-microscope.

I set this up on one of the kids' laptops. The software (windows) that comes with the camera appears to be relatively powerful, but the user interface could be a lot better.
Resolution is fine for a biological microscope.

My only regret is that we can't use it with one of the iPads that always seem to be quicker to get to.

This was a gift for our nephew and the disclaimer is that neither his family nor I have every had a usb digital camera for a microscope before, so I can't compare. But overall, it was extremely neat to be able to display the images on a monitor for everyone to see. Image was clear and camera worked as intended.

I bought this with the AmScope M150C: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AM5XB5O?redirect=true&ref_=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_10 for my eight year old daughter that loves everything science. She already had a 400X microscope but she wanted something that she could use with her computer. The combination of the microscope and this camera was the perfect setup for her. She was looking at flower pedals, grass, leaves and everything else she could get her hands on. Totally recommend the package of this camera with the AmScope M150C microscope

My grandson loved this. The resolution and the price is good enough for his middle school purpose. I might upgrade to a higher pixel camera when he goes to high school.

Our R&D team did not need a microscope with built in camera. The Amscope can be used with a traditional microscope. The Amscope is a sharp little guy with different lens attachments. The supplied software is a tad confusing, we find that downloading another application to use with the Amscope camera works best.

This is a neat little thing that can be used for educational purposes as well.

After five minutes using it the usb plug on the eye piece part became loose and keeps losing connection to the computer making it unusable. I hope this was just a faulty unit and the company replaces it. I would like to buy a larger megapixel unit eventually, but not if they are going to lose connection like this after such a short time using it. I'm guessing weak internals or a shoddy manufacturing job.
