I have been home with the flu, and the doctor recommended Mucinex. I can't take DayQuil because it makes me feel drugged. This works so much better without making me feel like I'm high as a kite. I know it says it's for sinus problems, but it is great for the flu.

I am a long time allergy sufferer and was looking for a more wallet friendly substitute for Claritin-D. First I didn't realize that the dosage was 2 pills every 4 hours, so this wasn't quite the deal I initially thought. While it does work sufficiently, it couldn't remember to take it every four hours. And who wakes up all through the night to take medicine, but if you don't, you wake up congested because the medicine ran out after 4 hours.

Wanted to give this one star because in the product description it says works up to 12 hours. NOT TRUE. The pack plainly states use every 4 hours. That means it takes 6 caplets to last 12 hours. With 10 day and 10 night caplets included you don't even have enough for 48 hours. What a rip off. Second reason I wanted to give this 1 star was it upset my stomach. Nothing upsets my stomach. Ever. I take 2 advil sinus and a plain advil chaser all the time with no upset stomach, but just 2 of these daytime caps left my stomach very angry.
Now the reason for the 2 star was for the night time caps. Still have to take 2 every four hours, but I popped some at bedtime and slept 8 hours straight through. Oh yeah, it was good.
Anyway, I'm going back to Advil. Sorry Mucinex.

Whole family got sick with congestion and fevers. I felt myself getting congested. I took Mucinex for two days and the congestion never got as bad as it usually does with a cold. I felt a little congested, but was so much more comfortable and could breathe (Unlike any other cold I've had). This helped so much. My cold literally lasted about 2 days and was so much more mild. It definitely breaks up congestion.

There are lots of warnings regarding side effects and "if you have xxx, do not use." Overall I am healthy, but I always read the warnings. Everyone should be careful! I cannot speak for anyone else, but I have not had side effects.

Oh wait! I can breathe and my sinus hurts less! Very nice side effect.
